The Wooden Sky is kicking off their small mini tour (w/ Northcote) with "small" venues for a intimate acoustic setting from October 19 - 28. The show in Ottawa is totally sold out! So you might have to sell a body part just to get into the show. With all the crazyness, the band has dropped a new EP called City of Light. It is a teaser for what to expect for the full-length when it drops sometime in 2012. But for now the band has released the song Angelina . Have [...]

Yukon Blonde and The Wooden Sky played at Mavericks on October 27, 2010. The turnout was amazing (due to Reading week for University students). Its been awhile since I've seen both bands played in Ottawa. Both bands did an amazing job with their live set. The tour coincide both bands with a split 73. Here is The Wooden Sky singing "My Old Ghost". Yukon Blonde put on a great set. Playing tracks from their current album "Yukon Blonde". [...]

Two nights ago I saw The Darcys and The Wooden Sky perform at Algonquin College. The Darcys opened and mostly played songs from their new album "Young Believers" which has yet to have a release date. They've been on a mini-tour of sorts across Ontario previewing and promoting the new album. Here's a list of songs they played (most of these titles haven't even been announced yet): 100 Mile House Des Animaux House Built Around Your Voice Don't Bleed Me Shakin' Down the Old [...]
Gavin Gardiner of The Wooden Sky has piles of perfectly-formed melodies scattered around his home, I'm convinced of it. Every song I hear from the Toronto indie/folk-rock ensemble finds a way to lodge itself into my brain and gently gnaw, relenting only after I perform it for friends from my couch. The Late King Henry can be found on the band's sophomore LP "If I Don't Come Home, You'll Know I'm Gone", released in August of 2009; The album was produced by Montreal producer Howard Bilerman , who has been behind releases from Arcade Fire , [...]
