The Gay Blades have announced that they will be hitting 2011's SXSW . The NJ group have also planned out some tour dates on the way down and on the way back from Austin.
Perhaps it's time to start our annual count of who is playing the most shows at this year's SXSW? The Gay Blades only have four currently scheduled (which really isn't that many but is still a good number). However, they'll be performing many shows surrounding those dates from the northeast corner of the US and back--though we should point out that New York City is ignored...for now (we're sure that'll change soon enough). The duo, consisting of Clark Westfield (guitar/vocals) and Puppy Mills (drums/vocals), will be out in support of their most recent release, "Savages" (4Never/Triple Crown Records) which USA Today describes as, "an eclectic mix of punk and alt-rock" and Beyond Race calls, "...undeniable catchy pop perversions."
