@sviib @vagrantrecords Género: Dream Pop, Indie Pop, Indie Electronic, Shoegaze, Synth Pop, Art Pop.

Few acts have been as consistently impressive over the past five or so years as School Of Seven Bells . They may have lost a Deheza twin since the heady days of Alpinisms ; since Disconnect From Desire , even but they've lost none of the wispy, yet with that focussed propulsion to have thrust them up toward the apices of dream-pop in the first place. Ghostory too was, in places, a swoonsome beauty but this pseudo-industrial clodhopper tramples over much of it most impactfully. Secret [...]
Ghostory takes some time to grow on you, but it's altogether an accomplished, spooky third record. Vagrant Records/Ghostly International, 2012 6.0 / 10.0 Let's start with a confession: I have tried to get into School of Seven Bells' music before, without much success. I've gotten as far [...]
With such a busy tour schedule following the release of their third studio album, Ghostory , School of Seven Bells recently teamed up with Genero.tv to produce a music video for their single "The Night." Genero.tv gives anyone a chance to create a music video for the songs they feature. After months of competition and several finalists, the band finally announced the chosen winner, who won $2,500 and bragging rights to be the director of the official "The Night" music video. If you missed seeing the School of Seven Bells on their most recent tour, [...]

+ site oficial [...]
Dreampop duo School Of Seven Bells release their ethereal cut (and favorite of mine) 'Reappear' as an official clip from their latest project ' Ghostory .' Watch the emotional Fernando Vallejo directed visual above.
From the world indie dream pop comes School of Seven Bells' Ghostory , the NYC band's third full-length. Wait - dream pop? I guess there's been a reemergence of this genre in the past few years, since bands like M83 can be labeled with this genre tag. So, what about School of Seven Bells? How does Ghostory stack up? I reluctantly admit that it's not as bad as I first thought. This is the band's first album as a duo, as Alejandra Dehaza's sister, Claudia, departed the band after Disconnect from Desire . From the [...]
The New Album "Ghostory" Available Now.
Watch the video for School Of Seven Bells ' "Reappear" from their latest album "Ghostory" which is out now. School Of Seven Bells has just released a new video for a cut off their latest album "Ghostory" , this time for the minimal "Reappear" , which we called "the sexiest slow burner of their career". The video , directed by Fernando Vallejo , gives us some great shots of a desolated [...]

By Melanie McGovern March 8, 2012 In light of their third release School of Seven Bells returned to London for a sell out show at Islington's The Garage. Having seemingly traded much of their dream-poppier charms for heavier electronica on Ghostory their live show proved that this latest release has more staying power when performed, and any doubts over a change in musical direction were certainly cast aside after a flawless performance which seamlessly married their earlier more ethereal works with the weight of their current recording. Clad in black, Alejandra Deheza's [...]

It took a long time to get to grips with "Ghostory" . Having fallen in love with School Of Seven Bells ' debut and hated their follow up, the new album could have gone either way. "Ghostory" is a concept album based on Lafaye, a woman who has been haunted by ghosts for years, and the album is just as haunting as the concept. There's more to the concept than that, there's a lot of storytelling but luckily the album doesn't get bogged down in it too much. I saw [...]

Oft viewed, far from erratically, as an act orbiting a cosmic aloofness, within a live context Alejandra Deheza and Benjamin Curtis' preaching from the School of Seven Bells is lowered back down to this earthly realm in which we dwell, their intergalactic ethereality humanised. Moreover the stench emanating from the water closets of The Garage is putrid enough to bring all to their senses via gusts of repulsion, and could quite foreseeably be intaken on some faraway satellite. However here on this insubstantial patch of land SVIIB are the irradiate bodies and we the starry-eyed as the duo-cum-quartet [...]

Ex-Chairlift member reworks the NYC duo's single.

School Of Seven Bells - Ghostory By Melanie McGovern School of Seven Bells ' guitarist Benjamin Curtis (who also stands in as producer on this recording) has described the now duo's third studio LP Ghostory as "their most collaborative music to date...more sensual and spontaneous than anything [they have] ever done before". The first release following the departure of Claudia Deheza last year, there is a noticeable departure from the once heavenly dual harmonisations that featured on Alpinisms and Disconnect from Desire. H [...]
In the early part of the aughts The Secret Machines , with their psychedelic hard-rock sounds, seemed poised to become the next big thing. Then in 2007, after the release of two studio albums and a couple of EPs, their guitarist Benjamin Curtis decided to part ways with the band, which included his brother Brandon, in order to form a new group with the identical twin sister tandem of Alejandra and Claudia Deheza of On!Air!Library! The trio met when their respective bands were on tour together opening for Interpol. Curtis and the Dehezas decided to leave their previous bands [...]
