Post-punk outfit Ghost Ship started 2012 quite nicely with the release of their impressive debut Golden Girls EP and winning our Featured Artist(s) Poll. With their driving, unrestrained brand of loudness, exemplified by the soaring "Strange Fear" off the new EP, they easily stand out from the crowd. Since then, the band's gone on a bit of a hiatus while members spent their time separated by the Atlantic Ocean. So sure, Collarbones bills themselves as a sort of RnB, but I would also contend that it sounds like Dave Longstreth hanging over some way wonkier beats than you'd find with Dirty Projectors; maybe it's just me. Either way, these bros from Adelaide Australia have got some great music that you'll want to get ahold of right this minute.
