HBO's ' Girls ' grew on me in an unexpected way. It was hard to watch the show disconnected from the surrounding hype and initial bullshit chamber - to take it on its own merits. Peter Moses and Frank Cappello’s  parody  of HBO’s  Girls  is kind of brilliant on several levels, perhaps that's why it's even earned the stamp of approval from  Girls  co-creator Judd Apatow who  tweeted , “That made me laugh a few times. This weekend, some new HBO tv show called " Girls " premiered on HBO. I am not sure what it is about, but it is probably one of those 'high end' shows for women that is ultimately as dumb as any other show, but females will be like 'OMG this is TOTALLY REAL and it ACCURATELY DESCRIBES MY LIFE!' I guess it is just like 'Entourage' for people with vaginas and quirky feelings, or something. The first episode of  Girls , the new HBO series by executive producer Judd Apatow and writer/director Lena Dunham,  is available for free on YouTube . For some silly reason, HBO disabled embedding. Anyway, just because HBO doesn't really get the Internet is no reason to hate on a show that's been well-received by critics and drawn comparisons to being the new Sex and the City, except for dumpy, 20-something Brooklyn hipster chicks instead of 30-something snobby Manhattanites.

I was pretty excited when I saw an ad for HBO's new show Girls on the side of a bus stop. I recently watched Tiny Furniture on Netflix and really enjoyed it.
