I've always rated Glyphs ' low-key, flickering electrogaze sound, and my opinion isn't changing with the Brixton duo's soulful new song Locks & Keys . Blessed with a more wholesome chorus than they normally offer, it's out on 4 February via their Soundcloud page . The below video was shot in New York, London and, that third great hub of global culture and ethnicity, Walton-on-the-Naze. Click here to view the embedded video.
An American Flag. A drum kit laden with flowers. A blurry lens. A scarecrow that dresses a lot like yours truly. Chasing geese. Playing baseball with a red guitar. A mysterious, gorgeous lady on a rowboat. Mike Hartman playing guitar for the lady. The lady playing guitar for Mike Hartman. Mike Hartman swinging from a tree. Mike Hartman in a stylin' MTV letterman's jacket. Mike Hartman tossing his guitar clear into the air and avoiding Krist Novoselic's fate . Streamers, explosives, and a smoking flower pot. Scarecrow goes to the beach and gets set on fire. If [...]
Here's the new video from Sic Alps - the track is awesome and is lifted the group's forthcoming self-titled album.

Sic Alps have their self titled fifth album set for release 9/11 via Drag City. You can check out a cut from the record, Glyphs, below. It's pretty sic. Sic Alps; Glyphs
Claps | Shelter Moon Glyph continue to go far beyond the realms of good taste, by bringing out more and more terrific releases, this forthcoming Claps album, ‘ Glory, Glory ’ - the follow up to last year’s ‘WRECK’ LP - being the icing on the cake for 2012. ‘ Shelter ’ reminds me some kind of centrepiece on a Future Islands record; bursting with energy and emotion; all the while tagging onto a sense of isolation and symmetry, sonically. Futurism meets [...]

Pitchfork brings us the latest track from Bay Area garage sensations Sic Alps . 'Glyphs' is an excellent cut that continues the raw, sludgy aesthetic of the band that we've all come to know and love. But this time, there's more: Joanna Newsom collaborator Ryan Francesconi is on board, providing a wailing string arrangement that wanders eerily amongst the muscular riffs. You can listen to 'Glyphs' right now via Pitchfork .

Words: Saam Das I wrote about Brixton duo Glyphs and their debut EP back in March. They've returned with another EP, five tracks of free electronic music await below. As with the debut effort, it's a mix of styles - taking on dubstep, electronica and so forth. It's actually ended up being a lot like Seal meets chillwave. A bizarre but compelling final result. Unfortunately, they've not really embraced the folkier side [...]

Brixton duo Glyphs ' second EP, Small Sounds, takes the glitchometer and turns it up to 11. This is the mellowest of alt-pop, lightly-toasted and gently challenging. Turn the lights off, put the candles on, pour yourself a generous glug of red wine, block everything else and just let your mind wander... ( previous post on Glyphs ) Small Sounds EP by Glyphs

Steve Rosborough of our favorite Minneapolis, Minnesota-based psych imprint Moon Glyph has made available for free download that incredible digital sampler of new and unreleased tracks he had given away at Pitchfork's music festival two weeks ago. It features a delightful compilation of established Moon Glyph fellows such as Velvet Davenport , Food Pyramid , or Lee Noble , as well as a bunch of other exciting artists that appear to be new additions to the impeccable roster, most notably the great Xander Harris . Read the fine label profile over [...]

Its your day for the deeper and chill side of the Dubstep world. Appreciate all the comments in the last few weeks, I now know I have an English teacher reading my posts. No matter this is a music blog not a grammar blog. Anyways, Benga gave out his tune Smack Your Bitch Up and the video is really great check that out. Love the Ghosts of Paraguay track and I must say what a awesome name! Had to post Skream Summer Dreams since it [...]

I've had the eponymous debut EP from Brixton duo Glyphs ( Facebook / SoundCloud ) on repeat for a good part of a month and still find myself having some real trouble describing their sound which draws influences from everything from folktronica to dubstep. Opening track track On & On reminds me a little of the delights I've always found in the electronic folk stylings of Tunng, but the beat they use behind that folk vocal melody has an almost tropical feel to it. Then whilst Little Pieces sounds fragile in places, [...]

Glasgow's Reboot Records have brought many a new dubstep producer to our attention in their short but prolific lifespan and next to join their catalogue is London's Promise One . "Glyph" combines dark atmospherics with eerie synth work that seems to crawl into your ears while seas of sub bass float beneath while "Dissonance" on the flip takes a slightly tougher approach but still retains enough depth for the track to work away from the dancefloor. Released on May 23rd, this is a top quality debut for the producer and marks [...]

Words: Saam Das For some reason, I keep thinking Glyphs are Welsh. They're not. They are Mark Walsh and Matt Wilkie , originally from Liverpool but now residing at the Southerly end of the Victoria Line in London, aka Brixton. The duo produce an impressively unpredictable brand of electronic music, with everything from a folktronica influence to heavy dubstep seeping through. That probably doesn't sound like everyone's cup of tea - [...]

Like your music scratchy and screwball? Then emerging Brixton du0 Glyphs are for you. Somewhere between indie, folk, electro and even house in style, their songs potter along with a minimum of fuss while lots goes on behind the scenes. Vocals build like soft waterfalls; cuckoo keyboards weave nice pat-a-cake patterns; and robotic samples provide the quirk. There's a geekiness and a precision here, but also real magic. Download the entire, self-titled EP potion for free at their Bandcamp . Glyphs - Outline ( mp3 )

. LINE-UP [...]
GLYPHS(Indie-Pop/Electronic)Re ad about these guys via The Wounded Jukebox and I must say... Nice find guys! I know I'm certainly tapping my toe to it. Glyphs, a two-man-band from London, have made quite the electro-pop gem with "On & On". The nearly constant harmonies paired with the clap-loops and synths have got me wanting more, but that's the good news... There is more. FOR FREE. You can go
