Every fortnight I'm going to share the new music I find with you in a compilation Mix post. WHat I hear you say ANOTHER instrumental post-rock band from Ireland? Yeah but I like this music in a 'God is an Astronaut' style! Lizzie Brindley by Wiltz [...]

The actual quality of a good show is something I measure in time. I mean, the really good ones, stick with me with tiny impressions on the long run. For example, I remember exactly the type of chills and that particular feeling I got when I heard God Is an Astronaut 's Fragile live, about 3 months ago. Hell, I still get those chills every time I listen to the song. ( Fragile by God Is [...]
Last week I described Cork XSW 2011 as my dream festival line-up and it did not fail to impress in any way. I loved everything from the line-up to the surroundings to the atmosphere and charm. I also loved how I got to hear possibly the best voice in Ireland ...... There really can't be a better location for a festival. Set in the Liss Ard estate the main stage took it's place downhill from the Liss Ard house with [...]
Bloody Hell, Damnation Festival have only gone and snuck out three very interesting line-up additions last night while we were off grilling Download Festival's head-honcho, Andy Copping (which you'll get to see next week). Godflesh, God Is An Astronaut and Altar of Plagues? Damnation Festival, you're spoiling us! First up, full respect must go out [...]

I'm going to write about the artists I'm looking forward to seeing. Bring it on: http://www.corkxsw.com/ The Stage Times went onto Facebook: CORK X SOUTHWEST STAGE [...]

Bring it on: http://www.corkxsw.com/ One band I'm so excited about seeing live is God is an Astronaut. [I'm hoping the stage time does not clash with Patti Smith!] The band are [...]

From time to time, I will encounter a perfect moment. It's usually very short and incredibly simple. This one just happend. I was biking on this more of an alley than a street, in the center of the city, with God Is an Astronaut in my earphones. It was 10:30 PM, about 15-16 °C, and it suddely hit me - the smell of lilac and coffee. They blend together perfectly, and with All Is Violent, All Is Bright as a soundtrack, you can not actually wish for more from life [...]
Oh my, it's been so long since I wrote something around here. Bits and pieces: ▶ I saw God Is an Astronaut live, with lots of great friends, in a lovely place. It was one of the best shows I attended. [whoever knows Romanian can read a bit more here ] ▶ My friends are totally awesome. They gave me a place to stay with one of the most comfy beds, books, lovely outings and caffeinated goods [ this one smells and tastes amazing | this I'm keeping as it is [...]

The daily running order went online today for Cork's wonderful music festival happening over the June Bank Holiday. I have my early birds bought but I still think this is the best line-up for a festival in Ireland and therefore worth your hard earned cash. Tickets here: http://www.eventelephant.com/c ork-x-south-west-festival-2011 Check out some of the performers here: God is an Astronaut [...]

Last night, the genre of choice was indubitably oldies. Tonight, that has transformed into post-rock. I was walking around campus at dusk, and just appreciating how beautiful the blanket of snow makes everything. The way the incandescent lights illuminate the buildings with that orangey glow is absolutely majestic, and the pristine condition of the snowbanks on the less ventured parts of campus was breathtaking. I forgot to bring headphones with me, but I could hear the gentle sounds of carefully picked guitars, swooping synths, choral voices and piano chord progressions with graceful use of the sostenuto pedal. So [...]
Most of the times when I listen to these guys, I really believe it, that God is an astronaut Lovely new album. Nice job, again! ( Lost Kingdom by God Is an Astronaut ) Filed under: album covers , cherry treats , musics

Leading up to tonight i had a hard decision to make. You see there's two very good shows on in Glasgow tonight. Make that three if you're a Motorhead fan.... Wild Nothing is performing at The Arches and 10 minutes up the road at King Tuts God Is An Astronaut are playing. Decisions decisions..... I've seen them both before and both were amazing live so that didn't make it any easier. What did make it easier though was the fact that i've been given free passes to Wild Nothing. My friend, who used to work in The Arches, [...]
