Franc Cinelli aka Goodtimes Goodtimes is a purveyor of good music. This, perhaps, can be attributed to his musical background. He grew up with his mother's vinyl collection of Bruce Springsteen, The Police, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd and Bob Marley. As an adult, he plied his trade at countless shows in the UK before he made enough songs to release his first record, Glue . Released last November, Franc's second, self-titled record sees him doling out a solid collection of folk, country and blues, drawing comparison to the legendary Bob Dylan. The album emanates [...]
Over the next several weeks, and probably into 2011, there will be an uptick in the number of In Dee Mail playlist posts; the latest one was just published last week. We're excited because IRC readers and visitors traditionally love the In Dee Mail series. But most of all we're amped to share with you even [...] Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe

Some folks have the travels in them, plain and simple. We all know someone who has visited more countries than we were even sure existed, with a tale to tell from each and every one of them. If they can put those stories to music, all the better. Franc Cinelli is one such someone and Goodtimes Goodtimes is one such musical vehicle. [...]

Imagine a musical companion travelling with you across the unknown, through uncertain times, challenging encounters and further into the beautiful wilderness of eternity. A knowing voice with comforting songs of love and hope that fills the emptiest of souls with faith and promise". Immersing himself in a melange of [...]

It's not really Sept. 25th already, is it? I know it's a really tired cliché but time passes so quickly these days. There are only 90 shopping days until Christmas, for crap's sake! Every year I swear I'll start shopping earlier but I never do. Maybe this year will be different? But I digress. The point of this post is that I've had some of these songs hanging around for quite some time and I'm only now getting around to posting about them. So with very little further ado, here are a few [...]
Last week I included a song by the talented Goodtimes Goodtimes in our "Snow Is Gone" playlist, and was excited to get an email afterwords announcing their plans to release an EP in the near future. We originally wrote about Goodtimes Goodtimes (which is essentially Franc Cinelli) about a year ago after his debut album Glue was released (read that post HERE ). While his music could be lumped in with the likes of several Bob Dylan aspirers, his knack for writing cheerful ditties like the ones below set him [...]

Always good to hear from old friend Franc Cinelli and his recent work with Goodtimes, Goodtimes. He's finishing up a new EP and the final work was completed at The Dairy in London and true to Franc's form, no dubs or "studio trickery" of any kind. Franc's also got a video up on YouTube of the recent recording session. Franc's music is of the kind that never gets old to listen to, and he obviously has a good time (no [...]
So it finally feels like Spring here in Utah - and after last Wednesday's ridiculous blizzard (which dumped more snow on my car than I think any winter storm has) the sun feels long overdue. Yesterday my wife and I met at J Dawg's for lunch and enjoyed our polish dogs on the grass in the sunshine. It was amazing. This playlist is to celebrate that moment. mp3: Josh Ritter - Snow Is Gone mp3: Goodtimes Goodtimes - Sunshine Sunshine mp3: Jon & Roy - Another Noon mp3: [...]

Goodtimes Goodtimes started life as a one man band; Franc Cinelli, an Italian raised in London, filtered his roots through a multicultural sieve to forge a unique identity and distinctive sound. A true blues man, born out of his natural era, and so he blends his blues-folk with his personal optimism. He and his cohorts create ethereally wonderful alt.folk. You'll have each song on repeat in your head before it even finishes playing. From their blog: "I'm pleased to let you know that my band and I have just finished making [...]

London rocker Franc Cinelli aka Goodtimes Goodtimes is bringing back the goodtimes once again with an upcoming EP, tenatively titled Let It Begin . Last year, I was completely blown away by his debut LP Glue , which I selected as [...]

So, it's getting warmer, and as such, it's high time to get back to some fun drives. Here's some of what I've been listening to on the occassions that I've been out and about on the road thus far. These songs in paticular are forever associated with the coming warmer weather. All Along The Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix [...]

This year has been an incredible one for music. I don't know if it was the full year of blogging about it, but I have learned and heard so much during the past year, making it incredibly difficult at times to really narrow down what was the best of the good. Looking back over the year, there were some clear choices, some not so clear, and a couple that surprised me. Already, 2009 is shaping up to look like a good year already. Runners up: Always the Bridesmaid : Decemberists, Human : Civil Twilight, [...]

It's nearing the end of 2008, and everybody's putting together and posting their year-end lists. I've yet to decide if I'll do one at all this year. I've already got a doozie of an xmas mix started for next week. After that, there'll be just one more mixtape in 2008! This week, I've got another random jumble of tracks I've collected here at SF central. Mr's Kweller Fred and Andronicus are here, as is Prof. Green and Miss Pierce- it's like a good ole game of Clue! Download and enjoy! [...]

Photo By Kate Chapple We mentioned London's Goodtimes Goodtimes earlier this year and they were kind enough to personally send us some brand new music from the record that they're currently working on. In 2009 they're set to tour the west coast of our fair country and maybe that means they'll very soon make it over to the east coast as well. Until then, enjoy a tune on us. mp3 : For All My Kingdom
We first caught up with Franc Cinelli and his Goodtimes Goodtimes project back in January, when his infectious single "Kids" hit my other other sweet tooth, you know the one that's typically reserved for guilty pleasures. I can't say enjoying his music is any sort of challenge (unlike the kind of blockade set up by Joanna Newsom's voice, or No Age's white noise melodies, that rewards perseverant listening), but it's sure as hell nice to see that people are still making great music without all the fluffy pretense. Cinelli has been working on a new [...]
