Phish bassist Mike Gordon has been making the most of his time off from touring by sitting in with jam stalwarts the Spin Doctors , Jackie Greene and now old pal Marco Benevento within the past few weeks in his hometown of Burlington. It's not a big surprise, but turntable.fm made it official today that they've raised $7 million in venture funding. Along with that announcement came news they've hit 600,000 users in 3 months, plus official confirmation that an iPhone app has been released. Tiesto's Club Life College Invasion tour is set to touch down in Syracuse on September 18th, but the just-announced closing date is even more notable. Dubset has closed $500,000 from angel investors and Governing Dynamics Venture Capital to bring DJ mixes online legally. The company had previously raised $100,000 in financing. Mixes can be legally tricky. It's much harder to track plays and pay royalties than it is for single tracks in internet radio.
