Lookout! Records , the Berkeley, California-based record label and one-time home of Green Day, Operation Ivy, Rancid, The Donnas, Alkaline Trio, and countless others, is no more, according to the label's former signee Ted Leo. Spin CDs have revealed that a rare live-to-air set from Green Day will soon be released. Recorded in 1992 for New Jersey's WFMU , the 70 minute set predates their 1994 breakthrough Dookie and consists mainly of material from (or collected on) 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hour and Kerplunk! .

With scheduled headliner, Jane's Addiction , bowing out the morning of the show, Bay Area natives Green Day stepped in to round out Not So Silent Night 2011's already impressive lineup. They joined Bush , Florence + the Machine , Mumford & Sons and Young the Giant at Oracle Arena in Oakland. melophobe photographer Patrick Concepcion was on hand to capture the action. Enjoy! In honor of Metallica 's 30th Anniversary, Green Day recorded a cover of Misfits ' "Hybrid Moments" from Static Age . The cover was shot and recorded live in the studio.

Question: What does one Bay Area band give another Bay Area band for their 30th anniversary? If you're Green Day, you cover the Misfits.
