Фронтмен Fleet Foxes Robin Pecknold выложил три сольные композиции, записанные в акустике. Одна из них называется «I’m Losing Myself» и это дуэт с Ed Droste из Grizzly Bear. Две других — новая песня «Derwentwater Stones» и кавер на «Where Is My Wild Rose» Chris Thompson. Музыкант подтвердил, что это не песни Fleet Foxes, а его личный материал, которому он хотел найти место.

Robin Pecknold , the primary voice of Fleet Foxes , took to twitter about an hour ago to give away 3 new tracks that he recorded a couple weeks ago in LA: "Where Is My Wild Rose," "Derwentwater Stones," and "I'm Losing Myself" (feat. Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear) . He made sure to say that they are not Fleet Fox tracks, so don't expect glorious layered harmonies. The songs are mellow and simple voice and guitars, but they are just as warm and [...]

While the world ( specifically P4k'ers ) eagerly await the release of Fleet Foxes' sophomore effort , lead Fox Robin Pecknold has provided an unexpected distraction in the form of the three brand new solo recordings. Recorded in Los Angeles a few weeks back, the trio includes a new solo song entitled "Derwentwater Stones", a cover of Chris Thompson’s 1972 song “Where is My Wild Rose, and a collaboration with Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste called “I’m Losing Myself". Fill your day's quota of sweet, pleasant harmonies in SoundCould form below ( via 24B ). Fleet Foxes' LP [...]
Fleet Foxes singer Robin pecknold is obviously not content with getting their second album finished up and practicing that he had to go and record some new shit with some buddies, just for the hell of it. As he said on their Facebook page he "recorded three songs in LA a couple weeks ago with my friend Noah. One is a new song that's a duet with my buddy Ed Droste from the amazing band Grizzly Bear , one is a solo new song, and one is a cover. Hope you enjoy!" [...]

Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold just gave away quite the Monday afternoon treat: 3 brand new recordings he made in Los Angeles a few weeks ago, including a collaboration with Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste called “I’m Losing Myself,” a cover of Chris Thompson’s 1972 song “Where is My Wild Rose,” and a gorgeous solo tune titled “Derwentwater Stones.” “These aren’t Fleet Foxes songs,” he points out, “but I didn’t know where else to disseminate it. Pretty mellow jams.” So, without further ado, you can now commence disseminating all three acoustic jams by downloading free MP3s [...]

After a two week wait for a promised duet with Grizzly Bear's Ed Droste, Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes) delivered a short, aptly titled EP of sorts called Three Songs . "I'm Losing Myself" is about as lovely as one could have hoped: [MP3] Robin Pecknold - I'm Losing Myself (Feat. When James (the head-honcho) from We Are Trees sent me the demo for "Afraid Of Love" at the start of February, I was under the impression that it'd be on his upcoming EP "Girlfriend", but not so! He just sent over the first single from that EP and on his Bandcamp page the tracklist for the EP shows five new jams, and you can probably expect each one to have that ethereal and laid back melodic sound that we heard on his debut EP "Boyfriend" . So far the new songs are quickly [...]
JP's blog made us aware that Grizzly Bear 's Chris Taylor is recording a solo album set for release later this year. In an interview with Death + Taxes magazine he said he hoped to tour with the album but has other projects on the go too. Last year Taylor go-produced the Forget LP by Twin Shadow which he distributed on his Terrible Records label before the act signed to 4AD. Twin Shadow's George Lewis has returned the favour by working on Taylor's CANT solo project, you can [...]
Grizzly Bear Galore leader in all Grizzly Bear news, has uncovered that Ed Droste and Robin Pecknold have collaborated on a duet together. StructureofSkin heard it from Robin Pecknold himself and tweeted: ed droste/ R pecknold duet coming soon. What?! Thats gonna... Read...
That's We Are Trees up there, at age nine, on the right. Sippin' on a 40, tokin' on a doobie. That's just how Asian kids roll in Virginia. Hardcore, all the way across the sky. He's been working on the follow-up to last summer's stunning "Boyfriend" EP, tentatively titled "Girlfriend" and last week sent me over a demo of one of the songs he's thinking of putting on the final version, but to me it sounds fine as it is (choo think?). There's a chance he'll release both a new EP and an album this year [...]

This seems to happen, and has happened, with a lot of other music sites and blogs, whereby they post about a new artist who's trying to get some coverage of their music and over the course of a year or so they watch that artist blossom and grow and get the kind of acclaim and recognition they deserve. My first of this kind is We Are Trees , the brainchild of James Nee out of his bedroom in Virgina Beach in Virginia Land. Since I first posted about him I've listened to his beautifully-crafted EP [...]
I like to keep in touch with artists who reach out to me or that I contact about featuring them on the site. When James Nee, the mastermind behind We Are Trees , first got in touch with me back in July we got to email-chatting and have kept in touch since, and the dude's one of the nicest guys around. Actually, scratch that, I don't think describing someone as "nice" is fair. Let's say he's the coolest motherfucker on the block, that sounds better. As I perused Rollo & Grady last week [...]
If Ed Droste was dead, We Are Trees would be his spirit, his living embodiment. That's not to say that We Are Trees is just a Grizzly bear rip-off, far from it. James Nee, the guy behind We Are Trees, may sound like "The Droste" but it's not just his voice that encompasses We Are Trees, there's the impressive musicianship, his intricate guitar playing, the beautiful lyrics, the production (the engineering on the EP was done by Mark Padgett, the bassist with Mae), all of which come together so well that pretty much within the the first minute of the first [...]
