Tomorrow, Grizzly Bear release their dizzily complex, already-loved new album Shields . And on Friday night, the band stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and played " Sleeping Ute ," the album's first single and opening track. It was fun to see Daniel Rossen take the lead on a Grizz TV appearance, and to watch the band fit the song's many, many interlocking parts together. Also, nice shot of the touring keyboardist scratching his ear. Watch the video below. Read More...
Last month saw Grizzly Bear perform on the U.S.S. Intrepid for Stephen Colbert's StePhest Colbchella '012 RocktAugustfest , their first late night performance in support of their upcoming album Shields . This past Friday, the band once again hit up the late night scene to further support the forthcoming studio effort, although this time around the venue wasn't nearly as exciting as a decommissioned World War II aircraft carrier. Stopping by the set of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon , Grizzly Bear performed their single "Sleeping Ute". Check out [...]

Imagine the dismay of many upon learning that Frank Ocean would be making his SNL debut with the likes of John Mayer. I guess it could've been worse. My only qualm was the direction that Ocean decided to take with "Pyramids" live and the ending. Did we really need to see Mayer do an albeit sweet guitar solo despite the spotlight really being on Frank Ocean to end the song? On the upside, the official video for "Pyramids" looks like Ocean had a crazy visit (are there any other kind) with Hunter S. Thompson in "Fear in [...]

Grizzly Bear joined Jimmy Fallon last night in support of their fourth LP, Shields . Watch the Brooklyn-based band play "Sleeping Ute," the first track off of the record, below. Shields will officially be released on September 18th. ( CoS )

This week's latest addition to 'Awesome Music That Jimmy Fallon has on his iPod' was Grizzly Bear , as the Brooklyn band performed new album lead cut 'Sleeping Ute' in the U.S TV studio last night. Watch the clip below:
The GRIZZLY BEAR get all atmospheric on us as they perform SLEEPING UTE on the Jimmy Fallon show, which reminds me, I should edit my interview with the American quartet.

Last month, Grizzly Bear made their first late night appearance behind Shields , performing on a decommissioned aircraft carrier docked in the harbor of the Hudson River. It was a more standard affair on Friday night, however, as the band perfomed "Sleeping Ute" from the snuggie confines of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon . If you missed it, check out the replay below (via The Audio Perv ). Shields officially arrives September 18th via Warp.

Last February 11, Neon Indian made their TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon . Tracks from their album " Psychic Chasms " were performed like Terminally Chill and Ephemeral Artery . I'm really digging the energy I see from Alan Palomo and the rest of Neon Indian, much less know he has a band. But nonetheless, awesome performance. Its adorable how Jimmy Fallon likes them. Download their remix of a win Grizzly Bear track and Terminally Chill: [...]
Neon Indian 's booking agent apparently ducked out on a previously scheduled Boston show so the band could hit up Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I'm not surprised by that considering they did they exact same thing to us for our upcoming SXSW party (oh snap!). I was a bit surprised at first not to see them tackling "Deadbeat Summer", instead opting for a two-punch with "Terminally Chill" and "Ephemeral Artery," but as you'll see the result is pretty wild. I didn't expect Alan Palomo to have an actual band, much less an actual stage [...]
Here's a clip of Grizzly Bear performing "Cheerleader" from Veckatimest.
Enjoy their stunning rendition of 'Cheerleader' in the feature below. MP3: Grizzly Bear - Shift (Acoustic)

So we finally find out how you pronounce the album title, the right way. On a different note, I just remembered that I saw both Grizzly Bear and Dirty Projectors on the same tour two years ago. Crazy how both are riding such a high right now. Grizzly Bear-Cheerleader [mp3]
This week/weekend has been very strange to say the least. First MJ and now Billy Mays have left us in the course of 3 days. Real shitty. Real shitty. In other news, I've been kind of MIA on the blog action lately due to school, work and some weekend play in my city of choice - Philadelphia. I'll be back in full force pretty soon. Don't worry baby birds. I'll feed you soon. Here's a nice vid from Friday's Jimmy Fallon featuring Grizzly Bear to hold you over: [...]

It's reassuring to know that Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear cares. After the band's performance of 'Cheerleader' on the show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday, the only way to view the clip online was on hulu.com. However, as the video streaming service is, for now, only available within the United States, us overseas folk have not been able to watch it.. til now. Thanks to the new way we communicate and disseminate information (yes, you guessed it, twitter), Droste immediately shared a link of the clip on TwitVid [...]
I feel awkward writing about Grizzly Bear's performance of "Cheerleader" right when I come to find out Billy Mays , the infomercial God , has died . Both Mays and Michael Jackson passed away at the young age of 50, add that to Farrah Fawcett and the tragic death of Dangerbird Record CEO Mike Castelaz's 6 year-old son, Pablo, and it's been one emotional weekend. However, nothing can raise the spirits quite like good music. While Phoenix played Kimmel on Friday night, Grizzly [...]
