By this point you probably don't need us to keep reminding you the fact that this September has been stacked with high quality new releases. That trend continues tomorrow, as HT faves Grizzly Bear will release their highly anticipated fourth studio album Shields , via Warp Records, and one that the band's multi-instrumentalist Ed Droste was very vocal on Twitter about people buying . On Friday night, the Brooklyn-based band stopped by 30 Rock to perform the record's winding, psychedelic, organ-drenched  lead track - Sleeping Ute - on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. [...]

Tomorrow, Grizzly Bear release their dizzily complex, already-loved new album Shields . And on Friday night, the band stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and played " Sleeping Ute ," the album's first single and opening track. It was fun to see Daniel Rossen take the lead on a Grizz TV appearance, and to watch the band fit the song's many, many interlocking parts together. Last month saw Grizzly Bear perform on the U.S.S. Intrepid for Stephen Colbert's StePhest Colbchella '012 RocktAugustfest , their first late night performance in support of their upcoming album Shields . Imagine the dismay of many upon learning that Frank Ocean would be making his SNL debut with the likes of John Mayer. I guess it could've been worse. My only qualm was the direction that Ocean decided to take with "Pyramids" live and the ending. Grizzly Bear is currently gearing up for the release of their forthcoming record, Shields . During the band's appearance at WNYC's Soundcheck this past Monday, they performed "Sleeping Ute," "Yet Again," "A Simple Answer," and "Speak in Rounds" off of the album. With Grizzly Bear 's album Shields coming September 18th, the band has been making the rounds. They dropped " Sleeping Ute " and " Yet Again ," and just like that, their project is one of the most anticipated of the second half of the year. We'll have to wait and see if they live up to the hype, but for now, check out some performances from the band's time on The Colbert Report and at Colbert's music festival. The one-of-a-kind event featured performances by Grizzly Bear , The Flaming Lips, Santigold, fun., and Grandmaster Flash all aboard the former World War II aircraft carrier.
