The return of Joebags is here! I've been gone all summer from the blog world, but now I'm back to help you with your music needs! Over the summer, I have found some realyl good stuff, and I'm going to hit up our reunion with Olympic Ayres latest groove, Episode II. From the first punch in The View (track number uno), I already knew this one some grade-A Aussie goodness. The simplistic instrumentation and the one-two staccato of the vocal patterns really blends really well, and into the chorus it has an almost an r&b feeling with that tropical drum [...]
Italian producer Le Nonsense dropped a new rework of Homework's song "Raw Groove". He turns it into a groovy french house tune! You can get the song for free. If you like it, check out Le Nonsense's mixtape "Mirage", my ... Continue reading

It's raining here in New York and the sky is the most incredible shade of grey. The clouds are moving fast and hazy light beams peak through with the breaks in the approaching storm. I decided to walk my way home to my apartment today despite the rain and actually enjoyed not having an umbrella for once. As I turned onto 2nd Avenue to head downtown, this track came on. Oddly enough the wind began to race up the Avenue and throw the rain directly at my face. I looked to the sky as Kimbra's ethereal "oohs" crescendoed [...]

Funky and mellower trap. No chance of mistaking this for Lex Luger.
After releasing recently "It Ain't Easy", Bit Funk is already back with the song "It's My Love", very groovy. I especially like the piano part and the vocal samples! He's giving it for free, just like his Facebook page to ... Continue reading

The Flower Drums - 'Outside The Province' (mp3) 'Outside The Province' is a teaser from the forth coming Ep Suburban Wilderness by The Flower Drums. This is the wholesome 60's rock I expect from Perth at the mo. These guys are doing it well and have a nice laid back, beer-garden sunshine thang going on. It's less 'far out' and more middle of the road but hey, that didn't slow down Powderfinger's popularity. I'm keen to hear the rest of the Ep and hope to see these guys tour the east coast soon. [...]

Currently blowing up on bandcamp and SoundCloud, producer Shook just opened up the second track from his latest digital EP, Distorted/ Love For You. "Love For You" is a groovy, smooth, and fun electronic romp that will definitely make it onto my Droid's playlist. The male vocals (is that him?) are a little dry and not cool enough for surrounding chill sound, but the clipping and modulation of the chorus lines brought me to head-bopping. Shook - Love For You by Shook (Official) [...]

Snake & Jet udtaler: [...]

Today I'm stoked to share with you all this groovy electro remix from Sound Remedy of Crush On You by the legendary Nero. In the past you've heard his chill almost funky remix of Nirvana . But here he shows off a completely different side of his production style. He builds anticipation with the epic Nero intro only to drop into some dirty bass. It reminds me a lot of Porter Robinson's earlier stuff so turn up the bass and enjoy! Nero - Crush On You (Sound Remedy Remix) | Direct Download [...]
STS9 is behind us for now, Big Gigantic is on the unimaginably close horizon, Deadmeat tour, Excision, and Snowball coming after that. For now, it's time to take a step back and drop the tempo to get into a groovy state of mind for the week to come. This week is all over the board [...]
Hope your weekends were deplorable, here is another mixtape roundup for your listening pleasure. They're all up for download, so eat it up. ♫ Knightlife - Cut Copy Tour Mix Part 3 This may be difficult to fathom, but there are two other mixes that precede this one - they are both excellent. No tracklist and I am [...]
So, pretty much as soon as I saw this in my email, I knew it would all be beyond amazing. Tyson found a place in my heart after falling head over heels in lust with The Swiss remix of Out Of My Mind. The initial intent of this post was to showcase the best remixes [...]
I've been in a deep 902s house music obsession this entire summer and many releases keep reminding me more and more of those old funky 902s club mixes. In particular, ' Get To Know Ya ,' has a groovy 902s track with lots of deep edge all over it. The drop has a great bass line that just makes you bounce uncontrollably. Great lyrics and a great sound. If you are trying to drop a deep house mix definitely check this out.

Beautiful, haunting, groovy. Strange Mercy will be released September 13th. Mp3: St. Vincent - Surgeon

My dude Teams stays comin' with the sexiness. He posted this groovy jam last night as I was drifting off into somewhere. Oh by the way --Teams is easily one of the best unknowns alive right now. If you haven't heard his collabo with blog favorite and absolute f-in genius, Star Slinger, I suggest you go investigate the interwebs and find some shit. Start by downloading this, the dude can produce jams. His EP is one of my favorites all year. [...]

Hey guys! Sorry about the lack of posting. It's not because I'm neglecting you, it's because I recently started a new full-time job and for the time being that was taking the majority of my focus. Well since we're on the subject.. here's an artist that I've neglected to post about that has deserved mention in our humble blog: ANORAAK!! I've mentioned his work in previous posts and I would even go as far as to say that his newest album has been among my favorite that have been released in the past year. I love it. It has so [...]

Summer solstice means the official first day of Summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. It's the season I most look forward to every year. When I was a kid I remember looking forward to all the horseplay that Summer vacation entailed. Now I get to look forward to countless pool parties, cocktails, and producers coming out with their summeriest jams. If you frequent Pete Tong's show on BBC Radio 1 , then you will be familiar with this track. So far it's the hottest one I've heard this summer and will surely be played in beaches, boats, pool parties, [...]

Mix Chopin is an awesome tender-aged Disco-House producer based out of Toronto. He is both resurrecting and progressing the genre in one fell swoop. His forthcoming Love Story EP is being released by Shiny Disco Club in France this summer. His sound definitely melds well with our style here at Bootsnkatz, so we are excited and grateful that he took the time to converse with us.++ First off, you’ve been known to use several analogue synths and instruments into your productions. What does your home studio look like? [...]

Hey, why not? Yesterday I posted part 1 of Poolside's debut mixtape. The 2nd installment was just released on their soundcloud an hour ago. I figured I'd post the follow up, so here it is. If you haven't yet heard the 'Day' portion I would recommend doing so. You can find it in our previous post . I'm really digging this one, perhaps the other portion was merely an appetizer.++ Poolside - Night mixtape by Poolside Music Cheers++ Vividid

Here is the first installment of a two part mixtape from the boys of Poolside . There was a lot of stir from my original Poolside post of the rough mix of their now instant hit. I hear they're top 40 in Belgium! I recently met their manager who is founder of Echo Park Records , as well as in charge of all the fun Rhonda nights, super all-around rad dude. I'm going to work with him to get you guys exclusive content from his artists in the coming months. In the meantime chill out to [...]
