Without doubt, the album you're about to hear below is one of the best of 2011 so far. I can't stress enough just how mind-blowing it is.  If you've heard Merril Garbus ' debut album "BiRd-BrAiNs" you'll know what to expect, but if you haven't then holy shit are you in for a treat/mind fuck/listening experience like you may never have experienced before.  Known for her unorthodox take on....well.....I'm not sure what it's a take on.  Experimental-Indie-Freak-Fol k-Electronic-Pop?   Out of this world sounds and landscapes and feelings and tastes on a 42 minute album, [...]

I posted about tUnE-yArDs recently but I was so inspired by their live act that I had to share a second song. I got to see the band, headed up by Merrill Garbus, perform in Central Park two weeks ago and it was definitely one of the best shows I’ve ever witnessed. Merrill manages to loop the instruments and vocals herself live all the while exuding a unique and, I felt, authentic youthful energy. Their act blew the other performers - St. Vincent and Basia Bulat - out of the park (literally muahahah) and this song [...]
