Hey Mister - The Hated If i ever sacrifice enough of myself that my car becomes a willing, self-financed extension of me and the me i want to communicate to the world, my customised license plate would read "347-ACK", as tribute to the Hated and this song. But then that would make me the Mister of the song's title. Still, the high fives and honking passing cars i expect to receive with my new $200 plus an annual fee plates would make it all [...]
Hey Mister - The Hated Another band i would be glad to live with their discography and their discography alone for the rest of my life, especially now, thanks to the internet, it has nearly doubled in size with those demo songs made available and at the right speed. Maybe not so much as i would be with the Magnetic Fields, but i wouldn't be suffering. One of the greatest bands ever, weird voice moans and all. This was the first song of theirs [...]
One of the best shows that I caught in 2007 was Too Much Joy's reunion show at the Knitting Factory. This one-time show was the band's first live performance in ten years and it doesn't look like the band will be performing again anytime soon. The band though posts a number of audio rarities (live, demos, rehearsals, etc.) to their website on a semi-regular basis. A few months back, TMJ lead singer Tim Quirk, now the VP of Programing at Rhapsody, posted a two song live performance from the Artist Activism Retreat. At [...]
We have taken a decision a while ago and we are sticking by it. There are many reason from this boycott, but what tipped it off is Katy Perry's last remarks on Lady Gaga's supposed blasphemy while she is playing all the chauvinistic tricks she can pull to market her tired music. We barely like one song from her horrid repertoire. Her first 3 singles all had tones of sexism, homophobia and a knack for ludicrous stereotyping, this is why for a period of time we referred to her as "Stereotypia." We are surprised that bloggers who support equality and [...]
So he tells me about this brilliant show, with great characters and plot and music and whatnot. And because all the usual series I watch are on holiday till September or so, I say why not. And I start watching Skins . And besides all I was promised it would be, I meet again some songs I really like, and I forgot about, or didn't pay attention to very much before. Like the one below. I mean, I love Cat Power 's The Greatest , but [...]
Twilight star Kristen Stewart says 'it's cool' that Miley Cyrus hates vampires. Cyrus, 17, recently said that she hates the bloodsuckers and hasn't seen any of the movies in the Twilight Saga. However Stewart, 20, who plays the lead role of Bella in the movie franchise, says it's her choice whether she likes or dislikes the creatures. She told E!: "Is she scared of them or does she just not like them? I don't think you should convince people of something if they already have their way of thinking about it. [...]
Terrible Songs Heard While Shopping at the 9th Street Trader Joe's in San Francisco and the Type of Customers & Employees Who Respond To Each Song: Song: Island Girl by Elton John Reactions: Young bearded employee in ball-crushing tight jeans dances in snack aisle, bobs head side-to-side while singing along; Yoga-addicted Earth Mama sings along while reading ingredients on organic trail mix bag, exhibits no ethical or ironic qualms while singing the words "Tell me what you [...]

I understand that Drake is successful and it warrants a barrage of hype as well as criticism. I just think this has gone too far. There are too many people posting the things they don't like about him and his music. To be fair I like his album, but I don't think its the greatest thing since sliced bread either. There are definite weaknesses about it as well. I wont go into those cause there are already a million reviews out. The problem with all this immediate backlash is I feel its [...]
Though I've always had a loose policy to listen to everything that gets sent to me (so long as an artist is not a Little or a Young, or any variation of the two), it's getting harder and harder. I get at least ten songs a day, while more than a few artists are literally dropping more than one track a week. With that said - I had some time to filter out the trash and bring you the best joints that my in-box had to offer. This is kind of a grab bag, which I suppose kind [...]
Now that Arizona has successfully banned Hispanics from rudely assuming they, too, can breathe the White Man's oxygen, I--a proud native Arizonan--now feel safer to enjoy patronizing our abundance of Mexican food restaurants without having to actually be around all those Mexicans. And on that same topic, a stern word of caution to underground lofi-funksters Javelin should they ignore the worldwide band boycott and choose to perform in The Grand Canyon State : I recommend only playing songs from your [...]

A fading street mural which happened to be randomly photographed for the cover of mopey suicide-y singer/songwriter Elliott Smith 's hilariously overrated 2000 album Figure 8 was "tagged" earlier this week by low-wage lackees hired by 84-year-old Pink Floyd kingpin Roger Waters to virally promote yet another tour of the flogged-dead-horse mainstay The Wall . The viral marketing utilized by Waters and his publicists involves high-profile/big-budget underground guerilla-styled postings promoting the upcoming tour through the use of crudely prited stickers, [...]

“3 THINGS I HATE ABOUT DEATH METAL DRUMMING”
This guy really hates poser death metal drummers. Really hates 'em! Like an Axl Rosenberg level of passionate hate. And as much as I wanna smack the guy for being an elitist prick who's obviously got many years of practice under his belt and is flaunting it, at least he's got the technique to back [...]

JONAS KJELLGREN IS “THE ICONOCLAST” OF SCAR SYMMETRY
O, Scar Symmetry. How I love thee unconditionally, even though superman/vocalist Christian Alvestam left to pursue a million other projects that sound just like thee (such as the killer new Solution.45 record). For after all, 'tis Sire Jonas Kjellgren who is the genius of this group, thy prowess which cannot possibly be overcome by the [...]
