The couple will team up for the victims again as part of the Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert. Shelton, an Oklahoma native, organized the telethon and is headlining. Reba McEntire is also scheduled to perform. The benefit will raise money for the United Way of Central Oklahoma and airs May 29 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

One week after debuting his seething new song "New Slaves" by projecting its stark video onto 66 buildings in 10 cities around the world, Kanye West is set to repeat the feat this weekend, starting tonight (May 24). Yeezus has updated his official site with a map of 25 new cities, which Def Jam France says will be the site of the "New Slaves" presentation again. The first batch is set to go live in select European cities any minute now, so we'll have confirmation soon. If your neighborhood was [...]

2 Chainz is known for being the king of features, but the rapper is now putting his often hilarious guest verses on hold to finish up his forthcoming second album. The cameos may be on pause, but he's still the busiest MC in the game. Head below to see his tweet with the announcement. FEATURES ON HAULT... NEW ALBUM ON [...]

If you're gonna do a cover of Backstreet Boys ' "I Want It That Way," you should go into it knowing there's a good chance the Boys themselves will see it. No pressure! After One Direction covered part of the hit , Howie Dorough said 1D did "a great job." Well it's been a good week for BSB covers, as Charli XCX performed a beautifully woozy cover of the song at a Chicago record store, which was lauded by BSB as well. "Woah! Did you see this [...]

Jennifer Hudson is joining American Idol as a judge next season. E! News reports that "multiple sources confirm" the deal has been signed, making Hudson the first former contestant to return to the show in a judging capacity. FOX is wisely trying for an Idol alum theme to draw in once-loyal viewers after the massive ratings drop for season 12 : as reported earlier this week, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are also in the running for the remaining two judging spots for season 13, and E! says [...]
Katy Perry is a darling. If ever there was doubt about that fact, it's gone after she apologized to Chief Keef even after he lobbed a couple despicable tweets her way, one threatening violence. To recap: a few days ago, Perry tweeted that after hearing Keef's "Hate Bein' Sober," she had "serious doubt for the world." Keef came back with a predictably trashy response, posting "Dat bitch Katy Perry Can Suck Skin Off Of my Dick" and "Ill Smack The Shit out her." Late last night (May 23), Perry apologized to "Mr. Keef" on [...]

Kendrick Lamar 's "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" video centered on a rather festive funeral, and at the end, the words "Death to Molly" flashed on screen. Turns out the rapper is serious about ending hip-hop's glamorization of the drug MDMA (for example, this ). But K-Dot's not exactly doing it for drug-specific reasons. Speaking with Sway of MTV, he's making it a fight against lyrical laziness, not necessarily the harmful drug culture. "I like trends...but sometimes you have trends that's not that cool," Lamar said. He argued that when everyone keeps rapping about molly [...]

Hey, Rowland Stones! (Did you know that's what Kelly Rowland calls her fans? Isn't that the most amazing thing in the entire world? Forget all those obvious fanbase monikers like "Little Monsters" and "Lovatics" — 2013 is all about the Rowland Stones.) There's good news and bad news: The good news is that K-Row is headed to the judges' panel on The X Factor , where she'll be providing "Kisses Down Low" glamour on a whole new platform; the bad news is that her new judging gig will force the songbird to cancel [...]

Ok, so we Angelinos are no strangers to the LA Times taking shots at the EDM scene, but it's sad to see their sister publication taking the same stance about this weekend's EDC festival in Chicago. It always comes back to drug deaths? Are they serious? Why don't they go to a Bears or Blackhawks game and see how many crimes are committed? Head to your next rock concert and take a deep breath… what's that smell? It's fucking weed. You could almost say other big events are even worse with the massive alcohol consumption, fights and I'm sure [...]

Katy Perry is currently in the middle of an ugly Twitter spat with Chicago MC Chief Keef (well, the "ugly" part is all on Keef's end). Perry recently tweeted about Keef's song , "Hate Bein' Sober," saying "Just heard a new song on the radio called 'I hate being sober' I now have serious doubt for the world." In terms of insults, that isn't even up to the level of the light ribbing Diplo lobbed Daft Punk 's way . Pretty harmless. Well, the eminently reasonable Chief Keef took major offense, and [...]

Drake and Ne-Yo aren't the only ones getting in some studio time with TLC 's surviving members. While those two guys are going to appear on the forthcoming TLC album , J. Cole told BBC Radio he has enlisted T-Boz and Chilli for a track on his own Born Sinner (out June 18). While Cole's record will feature some other vocalists as well (including Miguel on the great "Power Trip" ), he also pointed out the LP won't feature any other rappers [...]

If you are unfamiliar with the tunes of Kayzo, now would be in your ear's best interest to start. Just recently this talented producer leaked the second installment off his upcoming Limitless EP, called "Bounce" and has no intention of stopping the slow leaks. "Bounce," has all the ingredients to a great trap track, packing enough energy to get you out of your seat and on your feet. If the "face down, ass up" didn't have you immediately singing a long, the beat will be sure to do the trick as I'm having a hard time myself from not dancing. [...]

For every 999 stories of bad publicity resonating from the streets of Chicago , there's a video like this which reminds us all there are people in The Chi fighting to preserve the beauty that is one of America's most historic cities. In this case, it comes in the form of third grader Asean Jackson. The young'n put his school and hood on his back and took the city's politicians - most notably Rahm Emanuel - to the woodshed with an impassioned three minute speech about why his school, [...]
