HEALTH “Tears” This would have been the perfect video for Halloween, but I'm guessing with everyone's obsession with zombies the timing on this doesn't really matter. I think children zombies are much scarier than adult zombies and this music video highlights exactly why. HEALTH was tasked with scoring the new Max Payne game, and they released this track, "Tears." It sounds like something out of a David Fincher movie, which is to say: it sounds like a track from a video game. But it's bass heavy and fun, and it's kind of a banger, to be honest. There's a drone to it that gets a little annoying after a while, and to be honest, there's something kind of dirty about listening to a video game soundtrack, but I guess it's the closest we'll get from the noise group to a followup to 20092s [...]
Band created soundtracks to movies and video games are great. It forces the musicians to not only create for themselves, but to enhance and help tell an already existing story. This can lead to musical avenues that a band would otherwise never explore, and hopefully to the creation of great music that not only supplements the game-p lay experience, but gives us something wonderfully to listen to outside of the game.
