During a recent conversation I had playfully discussing the kind of music that you would want to hear as you “die on the dancefloor”, we were mentioning a few bands, but none came as close to the harrowing, oft-brazen sounds of the latest from the Brooklyn trio, Yeasaye r . With their patented off-kilter percussion and saturated bass, they have created an album for the end-times, without much preamble. Yeasayer's latest album is more of the same. The band are well known for their psychedelic, twisted disco - all wonky beats, jerky rhythms and fragmented melodies. Imagine Hot Chip and Metronomy forced through a meat grinder and you start to get the picture. 80s funk plays a large part in their sound - buoyant basslines and keyboard effects at times sounding as if ripped from an old video game - above which is frontman Chris Keating's processed vocals. After the disappointment of “Henrietta”, I was a bit down about the upcoming Yeasayer record, Fragrant World . I needed to hear something quickly to change my mind, and luckily a new track entitled, “Longevity”, appeared. This harkens back to their Odd Blood today, with their bouncy pysch-soul, that is just so post-modern cool. Yeasayer released a video for "Henrietta," describing the treatment as a “vignette to take drugs to.” Labeled as a screensaver on YouTube the band takes a creative step in an unknown direction. Just go with it and stop being a naysayer.

Não chega a ser um clipe, mas o Yeasayer lançou um vídeo psicodélico para Henrietta que é o acompanhamento perfeito (ou "uma vinheta para usar de acompanhamento a drogas", como a própria banda descreve) para seu novo single. Yeasayer geben einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf ihr drittes Album. Mit "Henrietta" führen die New Yorker den discoiden Ansatz von "Odd Blood" fort. Anfang Mai haben 200 Auserwählte Post von Yeasayer erhalten. Im Briefkasten fanden sie das Stück "Henrietta", das sich seit längerem im Live-Repertoire der New Yorker befindet.
