You guy know I'm a sucker for a good music video, and this one from Hiatus was instantly transfixing. It features elegant stop motion visuals - which must have taken ages to produce - set to the delightfully light "We Can Be Ghosts Now". It's an exceedingly pleasant way to glide through the end of the week.
Triangles love story in this wonderful stop motion video (directed by Tom Jobbins ) for "We Can Be Ghosts Now" by Hiatus featuring Shura .

Earthtone9 IV Self-released 8 April 2013 by Rob McAuslan Ask a random selection of UK metal fans aged mid-20s and up which band they thought should have been massive at the turn of the century, and there's a fair chance that Earthtone9 will be the answer you get. The Nottingham six-piece had a blend of accessible [...]
It's been a hot minute since we've heard from Middle Distance Runner , but DC's finest are back with "Cherry Blossom Bop," an explosive rock 'n' roll ode to their hometown. Clocking in at just under two minutes, "Cherry Blossom Bop" is both a celebration of springtime in the District as well as a lamentation of "the arrival of hordes of blissfully oblivious tourists." In the band's words, the track is a "catchy and upbeat meditation on nativism, isolationism and horticulture." Couldn't have said it better ourselves. Grab a copy of the song below. MP3: [...]

Musical bliss here from Hiatus. Shura's whispered vocals on 'We Can Be Ghosts Now' are the perfect tonic to a...

Jeg har flere gange haft Hiatus i fokus her på bloggen, og nu er han endelig klar med en ny original single med titlen We Can Be Ghosts Now .

Too many long working days, late nights and weekend phone calls. Need something to sooth. This gentle bit of electronica from Hiatus and Shura fits the bill. Fashion's Night Out on Hiatus in U.S. : womensweardaily : Say goodbye to free cocktails, designer and celebrity sightings — and late-night shopping — this September, at least in the U.S. After four years, Fashion’s Night Out will go on a hiatus in the U.S. in 2013. The event will still be staged in select international cities. Launched at the height of the 2009 recession in New York, FNO was a celebration of shopping at a time when it was desperately needed to jump-start the city’s economy. After [...]

I was seven years old the first time I sat at a piano. It was a grand piano inherited from a grandfather that I never met. I felt incredibly small, sitting there. But when I shifted all of my weight and pressed down on the heavy keys, I remember feeling a sense of surprise and awe at the sound that came out. It was melancholy and deep, and suddenly I didn't feel small at all - I felt powerful, part of something mysterious and profound. I gave up playing the piano when I was in middle school, convinced [...]
The Mars Volta may be over, but throughout their career they’ve given fans something unforgettable and that’s there to stay.
The River's Edge Music Festival will not be back in 2013, Live Nation officials say. The $4.8 million, two-day event on St. Paul's Harriet Island debuted last June with headliners Dave Matthews...
It is with great remorse that I report that, after a decade and a half dozen studio albums, frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala announced his departure from progressive rock band The Mars Volta. Last night, 23 January, 2013 at 9:39pm EST, Cedric discussed the announcement via Twitter in a series of twenty successive tweets: Thank u 2 all VOLTA fans u deserved more especially after the way u rooted for us on this album. I tried my hardest to keep it going (cont-)— Cedric Bixler Zavala (@cedricbixler_) January 24, 2013 [...]

Three of the four members of the band - Albert Suttle, Matt McDonald and Adam Perry - will continue to tour as a new project under the moniker " Ghost Owl ," while front man Brock Butler has posted an apology on the band's website [...]

But on June 8th, the all-star Canadian collective will return to play Arts & Crafts Records' Field Trip Music & Arts Festival . The label, co-founded by Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013. The festival's lineup also features former Broken Social Scene member Leslie Feist and associate Jason Collett, along with Bloc Party, Zeus, Cold Specks, Timber Timbre, The Darcys, and Ra Ra Riot, among others. AlunaGeorge is back on the blog (after a 12 hour hiatus) with this dope cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You”. It’s a reinterpretation that maintains much of the original while being adapted to this London based duo’s style. Dig.

Chicago Punk Rockers Rise Against look set to take time out from life as a rock group with an announcement in a recent Rolling Stone interview with frontman Tim McIlrath. Speaking to Rolling Stone, McIlrath stated that; "We’re kind of focusing on recharging our batteries right now. We’ve been a band for 12 years. We’ve [...]
