Filed under: News , Exclusive Haley Jane Samuelson Last October guitarist Amy Klein left New Jersey rock band Titus Andronicus not because of any blowout or disagreements, but simply because it was time for Klein to move on. Klein now plays in two bands, Leda and Hilly Eye , but for the past year, her new priority has clearly been the latter. "I left Titus in October and we started recording this [...]

There's something about 'doing it your way.' When Paul Anka wrote the lyrics to "My Way" for Sinatra to sing; they both knew the true benefits of taking this advice into hand when it came to music, and life. Although New York's Hilly Eye may not be moonlighting with The Rat Pack in their spare time, what these two artists do have; is a common ability to dig into a life of artistic expression in order to forge their own paths during a definitive 'me' generation. Well before singer and guitarist Amy [...]

Now that we've all recovered from our New Year's hangovers , it's time to start looking at the year to come. As we do habitually at this time of the year, we're putting our heads on the "artists to watch" chopping block and picking the acts that we reckon will blow up big in 2013. After the jump you'll find our run-down of the ten bands we're tipping to rule 2013, or at least do pretty damn well for themselves — so go on, tell us that we're right/wrong/have forgotten someone who we shouldn't have. [...]
With the end of the long, strange trip that was 2012 almost upon us, it's time to turn our attention to the year to come. January has historically been a bit of a fallow month for album releases, but that's changed in recent years with some notable records (most memorably Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion ) dropping early in the year, and the first month of 2013 is certainly looking reasonably well stocked for worthy new records. As we do at the start of every month, we've selected the ten records we're most looking forward to hearing, along [...]
So Christmas is done with for another year, which means that today is all about hangovers, indigestion and looking forward to 2013. We have good vibes in general about the year to come, and we're hoping that it holds as much musical goodness as 2012 did. The early part of the year is certainly shaping up well, and after the jump we've put together a kind of extended edition of our regular monthly album release preview, looking at the 15 albums (with confirmed release dates) that we're hanging out for in the new year, in addition to a roundup of [...]

Twitter Yo La Tengo haven't quite spilled the beans on their thirteenth studio album, besides to acknowledge it exists, that recent single "Stupid Things" will appear on it albeit in a different version, that it was produced by Tortoise's John McEntire, that it'll be out in late January - the smart money is on the 29th, since the last week of the month is typically when the year's first big releases are slated - and that a North American tour - of which only a few dates have been revealed - [...]

While still a member of Titus Andronicus in late 2010, guitarist Amy Klein teamed up with drummer Catherine Tung to form Hilly Eye and release the Fireworks EP . Since then, Klein's left the Titus fold , written for various publications, briefly reunited with her brethren for an X-Ray Spex cover , and played in the folk-rock outfit Leda. But after signing to Don Giovanni Records earlier this year, Hilly Eye will finally release their debut full-length, Reasons to Live , on January 22nd. Though the EP demonstrated [...]
