Odd Future offshoot MellowHype (Hodgy Beats and Left Brain) have released the video for "La Bonita", the lead single off their new album Numbers . Though Hodgy envisions his bonitas in black and white wearing some Dia de los Muertos makeup backed by a mariachi band wearing Mexican wrestling masks, he insists this song "ain't only for the Spanish girls." For their second freestyle session at Terry Richardson's studio, Odd Future's showcasing Hodgy Beats , Domo Genesis , and Left Brain . It's still a little ridiculous in terms of rhymes, particularly when it comes to Left Brain. But that's what kind of makes this so endearing. They're just goofing off and hey, you get to see some hilarious footage of Tyler, the Creator and others busting out some dance moves. Peep it below.

This feels like a nice step forward for MellowHype aka Left Brain and Hodgy Beats of Odd Future. Offering up a new track called "La Bonita" which is set to appear on their forthcoming project Numbers the duo seems ot have grown a little with their musical project. Hodgy pushes is vocal ability in this one and I really enjoyed it. See if you agree below. Numbers drops on October 2nd. (Via Hypetrak )
The Pretty Girl is Mellowhype's attempt at a new single. Left Brain creates a Caribbean production with thick bass to compliment the xylophone keys. Hodgy jumps in to talk about his "Puerto Rican mama" and his other Hispanic women. As with recent Mellowhype releases, this is another great release but so far the theme and creative lyricism is what is driving this to be my favorite.

Well, now that we know MellowHype 's new album, Numbers , is dropping on Oct.2-the same day as Flying Lotus and Kendrick Lamar !-we can officially get excited, right? RIGHT? Right, especially because the latest leaks, " Fakuoy " and now "La Bonita", showcase that Left Brain and Hodgy Beats are progressing musically. Leftbrain and Hodgy Beats make their first connection as MellowHype in quite some time on this lovely Saturday evening with the raw cut, "Fakuoy". The production is hyped and grim, just as you would expect from the two Odd Future cronies. Hodgy Beats is my favorite member of Odd Future. I think he's the best emcee in the crew, and I'm always pleased with his musical offerings.
