KCRW -sponsored shows featuring Animal Collective and Hot Chip / Passion Pit were among the dates announced today as part of the Hollywood Bowl summer slate, which will feature superstar conductor Gustavo Dudamel's six-night "Americas and Americans" festival in August, appearances by Ben Harper (July 1), Smokey Robinson (July 20-21) and Norah Jones (Aug. 10), and Anita Baker and Esperanza Spalding (Aug. 22) and the venues usual fare of stellar classical, jazz and theatrical productions. We're looking forward to another season at the Hollywood Bowl this summer, and now that the schedule has been released there are plenty of highlights to look forward to enjoying at the outdoor venue. You can expect to see some amazing acts including the return of Hot Chip to the Hollywood Bowl stage but this time Passion Pit will be opening the show. Armed with the mother of all undercards - the Arctic Monkeys , Panda Bear , Warpaint , and the Smith Westerns - TV on the Radio returned triumphantly to Hollywood last night for their first show in the city since last May . Chicago's Smith Westerns got things started early with a short five-song set that showcased the very best off of this year's Dye it Blonde . Closing out the concert season at the Hollywood Bowl, a stacked bill of TV On The Radio, Arctic Monkeys, Panda Bear, Warpaint, and Smith Westerns crammed in as much music as possible before the evening curfew. Smith Westerns bolted through a twenty minute set while Warpaint continued to play past their set time as the stage revolved.
