Stoned & Dethroned , the fifth album from The Jesus and Mary Chain has seen several CD reissues in recent years, but on March 6th the album will be available again on vinyl for the first time since its initial release in 1994. While mellower than previous albums, Stoned & Dethroned is still an incredible record, and features appearances from Shane MacGowan of The Pogues and Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star . The album is available to preorder from Midheaven for $16.
This is a truly genre-defining "trip-hop" album.
Fans of dream-pop do not have to wait long for an old favorite. Mazzy Star will be releasing a new album, as well as touring in 2012. Hope Sandoval and David Roback will be back on the road early next year before releasing their fourth full-length album

Sigur Rós spøger ind i mellem i baggrunden som forbillede, når det bliver mest storladent, men Lanterns On The Lake bevæger sig ofte mere ovre i folkemusikken, som de smukt blander med drømmende melodier. I'll admit it, we probably don't do the best job of promoting female musicians as much as we should around these parts. But, something about Sarabeth Tucek caught me today, perhaps it was the simplicity of her offering. There's just a gentle guitar that meanders throughout, and then there's just the vocal that goes atop it all. Something in the way Tucek sings is awfully reminiscent of one Hope Sandoval, but perhaps that's just wishful thinking. I know it must sound like blasphemy to a whole lot of you but Massive Attack have always struck me as quite boring. Quite obviously talented but the only thing that ever had me standing back in true admiration was 'Teardrop' and the way '100th Window' sounded so exotically middle eastern.
