.......so it's been a while since the last mixtape was posted. Just 3 weeks short of 6 months to be precise. I hope this one can make up for it. The original idea for this mixtape was to make a glitch effort but once i had whittled down my tracklist it turned into a kinda best of 65daysofstatic and LOD with a bunch of Bring Me The Horizon remix versions and a few other tracks that just seemed to fit. I made it a while ago now, like March or something. My friends and a small gathering of [...]
Remember back in March, when we found out that Horse the Band are releasing a six DVD/photo book set from their Earth Tour? Well, they're only going to be available as a pre-order, because it ain't cheap to make 'em. And the ABSOLUTE DEADLINE FOR THOSE ORDERS IS MAY 24. After that, if you want [...]
Well, here's a story that caught me pretty off-guard. From The PRP: "Los Angeles based NINTENDOCORE pioneers HORSE the band have decided to change their name a decade into their career. Singer Nathan Winneke says, 'After touring Africa for the last two weeks we have had some profound experiences and decided we wanted a name that better [...]
Full confession: until about an hour ago, I had no idea who the hell Ke$ha was. I think I've read some shit about her on Stuff You Will Hate, or maybe she just looks like someone I'd read about on Stuff You Will Hate (she's collaborated with SYWH favorites 3OH!3); in any case, I didn't [...]
I bought a six DVD set once. It was called Miso Horny, it cost ten dollars, and it literally took me weeks to watch the entire thing, 'cause, well, it's hard to get through that much content when you're only watching in fifteen-second increments. I certainly got a lotta bang for my buck, though! Speaking of [...]

:: Pete Townshend has revealed The Who 's set list for their Super Bowl appearance. It's a 12-minute medley made up of Baba O'Riley , Pinball Wizard , Tommy , Who Are You and Won't Get Fooled Again . :: So you know how Fucked Up wrote that song about people splooging and crying while listening to Sonic Youth ? Well, it turns out the track isn't a jab at Thurston and the gang. It's a zinger meant for Sonic Youth's fans . [...]

He's a beautiful, complicated man. After some glorious slackin' I'm back with a fresh-as-flon Top-10 and Album of the Week #8. I think you'll agree there could be no other choice at this interval. If you missed the ride last night, we were fortunate enough to have a number of super sweet photographers and film folk en route to deliver some sweet footage and "hey, remember that"s. Rolling through to Bergamont Station was a full on party with music pumpin', riders cheering each other on, and not much traffic to impede our floating attitudes. Slang Chickens were fantastic and brought the enthusiasm which set the bar for the night. The Shrine melted faces and rocked out behind the Ross on National and Sepulveda, teasing me with the hope that we [...]

Professor Calculus at the TEST RIDE (photo cred. LA TIMES) So the TEST RIDES came and went. We had a lot of fun, saw a lot of great music, and had some unforgettable experiences. If you were at the last ride, you might want to check out the LA Times article to see if you can spot yourself. Now, as the new year rolls in, it's time for the FMLY RIDE to take over. Over the past year, I have seen so many new people start biking. Next year, bikes will take over, [...]

Troy Michigan post hardcore geniuses We Came as Romans are in an enviable spot. On the strength of their incredible self released 2008 Dreams EP , WCR signed with Albany's Equal Vision Records and have now released an immediate album of the year candidate with To Plant A Seed. Three big league names join in on one funky club/dub tune. Lately anything with the name " Rusko " in it gets a golden star form me. Another brilliant tune from Dubsteps' new poster boy. Kid Sister ft. Estelle- Step (prod. by Rusko) (128) Download audio file (Step-prod.-by-Rusko.mp3) [...]
Tomorrow is Halloween. This is great news, because it means that come Sunday (or Monday) people will finally fucking stop talking about Halloween. So sick of it already. When did I become so curmudgeonly? I'm gonna make a hell of an old man. Here's what went down this week: Danzig drummer Chuck Biscuits died. Oh wait, [...]

There's a lyric in the song "Hour of Rats" from Fed Through the Teeth Machine, the album by The Red Chord, and this particular lyric has really taken hold in my brain as of late: "WE'VE KNOWN EACH OTHER TOO LONG TO BE FRIENDS." What a simple, beautiful statement that I can 110% relate to [...]
