Things I Can’t Do Lord Knows why the man feels he can show off before every game and yet prefers not to enter the most watched part of al star weekend. What do the other guys in the layup line think when he pulls this? Lebron is soft. Go Knicks. TNGHT - Higher Ground Diplo - Hot Chip vs. Major Lazer

"Free The Universe" the highly anticipated second album from Major Lazer has had its intended march release delayed due to some unforeseen circumstances. The American 3 piece took to Facebook saying " we are truly apologetic and we promise that this hiccup has only made what we have planned for the album stronger. We tried extremely hard to keep the date but it was ultimately decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to you and everyone who worked so hard on it." Its not all doom and gloom though, over the coming weeks Jillionaire, Walshy Fire and [...]

YOU GUYS. I cant stop listening to this song, seriously. Diplo funks this jam all tasty naughty. Play, repeat, Play, repeat...

At the turn of the year, there's always a few things we get excited for. There's always the excitement of new Music Ninja programs we're launching, plans of grandeur for the upcoming year, new album releases, and of course, music festivals. We're just out of the gate for 2013, and we have to say, we're really stoked for what lies ahead. First up on our list of festivals is the largest electronica festival in North America. The setting is perfect, as Miami is already a hub for the scene. But when you take the party outside, onto Bayfront [...]
Recently my musical interest have become scattered stars across the cosmos and as much as I'd love to claim to have some sort of pattern of interest, there is no constellation that confines me. Like a space traveler weaving in and out of the genre galaxies through the many artist and song : black holes, across all [...]
Another year, another great crop of songs. Some of you might be surprised to see a handful of radio smash hits on here, but I'd be lying to myself and you if I didn't include them in a list of my favorite songs of 2012. There's a Spotify playlist (with a few extra songs) to [...]

Damn. October already? I know I'm not the only one wondering where the time keeps going. Suffice to say, it's been a strange year so far, tumultuous and beautiful and a hell of a lot of fun. For those of you keeping score at home, The Leftovers is a two-and-a-half year old institution, and so far, my ears and inbox have yet to stop being flooded by dope shit, so I suppose it'll have to keep going. A realtalk seminar from Frank, a major highlight from Grizzly Bear's phenomenal new album (expect to hear more about it soon), some unexpectedly [...]
Flanders is more than a field, it’s also home to about a bazillion festivals. Putting last year’s tragedy in the rearview, Pukkelpop – dubbed the European Coachella by DJ Martin Solveig and held August 16-18th in Kiewit, Belgium – was this year a celebration of great music. So how does one girl plan her attack of 14-hour days, eight stages, 200+ bands and DJs, in 97°F heat? With good shoes, bottles of water, and a long lens. The first day saw Paris’ drum n’ bass assassins Dirtyphonics nail the Dance Hall and its inhabitants [...]

OBSESSED! This is almost all I want to say but that would be a big no no, but that word pretty much sums up this track for me. I know I have been holding out on this one all weekend, but I really wanted to give you something that will make you feel so F*&cking alive as it does for me. Literally this has been on repeat for the past few days on every stereo system I can play it on, my car, my computer, my phone, Hector's amazing studio sound system and sometimes two of those at the same [...]

Major Lazer is such a unique blend of reggae infused party music produced by Diplo. Today I've got a HUGE summer banger, and Major Lazer flips the indie pop group Hot Chip 's single "Look At Where We Are" and loads it full of reggae, electronic fused jungle magic making for a track I haven't been able to stop replaying. I'm convinced Diplo isn't capable of making anything short of gold. Turn this up, and will keep you posted when the download get's released. If you are unfamiliar with Hot Chip, give "I Feel Better" [...]

Articulos relacionados: [...]

Hot Chip received the remix treatment from Switch and Diplo's Major Lazer project for In Our Heads track, "Look At Where We Are". They take the electronic, synthpop track and put their usual reggae spin on it to take to another level. Listen below.
Diplo may very well be one of the most prolific and experimental producers in dance music today. He has fostered countless artists with his Mad Decent label, created intense dancehall anthems, embraced the moombahton movement, and now he takes a shot at the up-and-coming trap sound. We'll be honest, up until Dillon Francis touched trap music we thought it was just obnoxious noise and now Diplo decides to experiment with trap the same way he did with moombahton. When we first heard this track on BBC 1 this morning we were shocked. Major Lazer remixing an [...]

Major Lazer takes a track from Hot Chip and remixes the funk out of it. “Look At Where We Are,” was one of the slower tracks off of In Our Heads, but Diplo have no trouble putting their thumb print on the track in a big way.
Diplo 's Major Lazer has remixed Hot Chip 's latest single from their great In Hour Heads album, "Look At Where We Are." We, no doubt, enjoy the dubby swagger and the rallying phasers injected into the song, but our favorite moment in the remix is when Alexis Taylor's voice is isolated in the middle and the Major lets the song's gorgeous melody run through unadulterated. Consequence of Sound' s Summer Tour Guide will lead you to the darkest, dankest (not every venue has a ventilation system, folks) concerts where you can dance the night away after spending too many hours in the sun. From Dirty Projectors to Phish to the Diplo/Grimes/Skrillex extravaganza that is the Full Flex Express, we've listed the best and brightest artists that are touring new or as-of-yet unreleased albums , touring around festival appearances, or just touring because it's damn fun. -Harley Brown Associate Editor Feature artwork [...]

This weekend, New York will be facing a hurricane by the name of Irene. Next weekend, it will be windswept by a storm of an entirely different breed (and yes, I know I'm probably not the first to make that joke): Electric Zoo , taking place on Randall's Island on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 2, 3, and 4. I, for one, will hardly have recovered from my September 1 movein in Cambridge, MA. There is a reasonable chance that I will have slept in a U-haul the night before. But despite these handicaps, I will [...]
