You may well, and rather conceivably play on through this one multiple times before twigging what track it actually is that Alexis Taylor and his About Group gaggle go ad libbing this time around, for this extempore take on Dionne Warwick's Walk On By eschews the Bacharachian minor key melancholy in favour of a wilfully erratic improvisation. I never quite got why About Group were never afforded a greater cultural prominence than that which they were afforded a couple years ago around the release of their decidedly good Start And Complete LP, not least as [...]
After three years of non-stop international touring with the likes of the XX, Grimes, and the Gossip, Austra went to the studio to record her second album entitled 'Olympia' which will be released via Domino in June 2013. A first... READ MORE
Alexis Taylor has long since been something of an unorthodox heartthrob – perpetually gawky, although recurrently heartwarming and with that, reliably reassuring. And whether it be with Hot Chip, About Group or owt else, his studied output has been consistently exceptional. The trend comes to continue with a newfangled collaboration with Cologne techno nut Justus Köhncke (a name which may ping a few sampled bells, given his recent soundtrack work with Irmin Schmidt of Can) as the duo combine to create under the guise of Fainting by Numbers . A pun on an artform renowned for its absolute artlessness, there's a commensurate [...]

Kieren Hebden just released this remix– taking Hot Chip's melancholic falsetto from "Look At Where We Are"– and drawing it out into a rich sprawling arrangement slowly constructed out of layers of inter-locking organic percussion grooves. This track is available on Hot Chip 's latest LP In Our Heads , out now on Domino . Also, check out the video for the original mix directed by Danny Perez here . Wolfey [...]
Hot Chip unveil a video for the new single, “Look at Where We Are”. The consistently strange band, does not disappoint, giving us a very angry, but beautiful cyborg, who is not about to be part of some non-sense fashion shoot. The moody number, perfectly sets the mood for these uncomfortable visuals. In Our Heads , is out now, via Domino Records. Hot Chip - “Look at Where We Are”

Their fifth album finds the English band sounding relentlessly alive and superbly crafted with a release that is one of the best of the year.

Hot Chip In Our Heads Domino Records [2012] Fire Note Says: Hot Chip’s new album will get stuck in your head! Album Review: I don’t typically like dance music, but there are a few artists that I have enjoyed over the years, particularly LCD Soundsystem, The [...]
There are plenty of choices for purchasing digital music – iTunes, Amazon MP3, 7digital, etc. – but only one online retailer, eMusic, offered a subscription plan with customers paying a monthly fee for cash credit (formerly track download credits) to purchase music from their extensive library of artists. Now, some independent music labels [...]

esce questa settimana per Domino Records In Our Heads , il nuovo album degli Hot Chip :

Hot Chip - In Our Heads By Richard Wink “I'm not a geek, I'm a unique weasel.” – Stoney, California Man Flippin’ heck time sure as hell flies, doesn’t it? Hot Chip has chalked up five albums. Nobody paid much attention to their first album when it was released in 2003; there was the odd positive review, but then a who-are-these-guys? viral video buzz erupted around ‘Over and Over’. Tech followers, wallflowers and star fuckin’ hipsters all fawned over a bunch of fruity [...]

As the release date of Our Heads creeps closer, Hot Chip have unveiled another new song from the record called “Don’t Deny Your Heart”. This is easily the most accessible track off the album so far, and is an absolute lovable piece of 80’s pop perfection. You won’t be able to turn away from this. Our Heads comes out July 11th via Domino.
Listen to the latest song to come from Hot Chip 's upcoming (as in next week) album "In Our Heads" out on Domino. London's Hot Chip are that band that everyone seems to love, but no one ever seems to remember they exist except for when they release new stuff. Regardless, they're on everyone's mind again, thanks to the - excellent, I may add - new songs they've been releasing in anticipation to what will be their fifth studio album, "In Our Heads" [...]

Today’s Hot Chip has been struggling to compete with early Hot Chip for a while now. Maybe everyone is getting a little too comfortable? I’ve just been listening to their best album, The Warning , and that was created by a group that couldn’t get all their ideas down quick enough, a band writing and recording through necessity. In Our Heads , while still a fine record, sounds like a family tradition which, while it’s fun to see old faces, is just a date in the calendar. They’ve got new projects running these days, new directions to explore. [...]
Hot Chip deliver one of the weirdest videos of the year, for their single “Night and Day”. A library/spaceship hybrid, choreographed hoodie s, and Reggie Watts make up the madness. I guess for a band as odd as this, a video like this is most appropiate. Their new record, In Our Heads , comes out June 12th through Domino. Hot Chip - “Night and Day”
Et voici un petit commentaire de l'intéressé : « Many animals were harmed during the making of this video. Regrettably, none of them made the final edit » . Je vous laisse regarder la vidéo pour comprendre.
Hot Chip reenlisted the help of comedian-turned-director Peter Serafinowicz to create a video for "Night And Day," the latest single off the band's fifth studio album, In Our Heads . If not for his work on the telly , Serafinowicz should at the very least be known for his previous stint behind the camera with the London electronic outfit making the hilariously bizarre video for "I Feel Better." His take on "Night And Day" is less weird - but only slightly - than his first go, and features cameos from Terrence [...]

Two weeks prior to the release of their new album 'In Our Heads' (June 8, Domino) disco-popper Hot Chip release the video for their first single 'Night And Day'. It's starring Reggie Watts, Terrence Stamp (Superman 1 & 2, Get Smart,...) and directed by Peter Serafinowicz who also produced the 'I Feel Better' video. New [...]
