Ever hear a song and want to tuck and roll under a table, slide across the hood of a car, or just put a nice suit on and creep around, solving mysteries and carrying out top secret missions? Yeah, us too. Here are 12 songs that make you feel like a secret agent. Regina Spektor - "Edit" You can't hear those opening piano stabs and not think of some James Bond shit. Who knows what Regina is singing about. "White lines on your mind.. something something... Uncle Albert... something something... edit edit edit edit." Is it about coke? [...]

This week, London three-piece Daughter released their mesmeric debut album, If You Leave . To celebrate, the trio popped in to BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday night to perform a jaw-dropping session excusively for Zane Lowe. It included this: a gorgeous, slow-burning mix up of Bon Iver's 'Perth' and Hot Chip's 'Ready For The Floor'. Although completely contrasting in their original formats, the group transform them into one continous torch song. Utterly, utterly beautiful. Listen and download below. Steve Mason performs at the launch at BBC Maida Vale Studios By Matt Jones So the lovely people at BBC Radio 6 Music , who are playing a huge part in organising Latitude Festival 2013 (with their own stage to prove it), invited us down to the festival launch event last night - and boy, oh boy does it look exciting. Top of the bill stand Kraftwerk , fresh out of their Tate Modern audiovisual spectacular, who will be performing the best [...]

We're here! Another Tuesday and another Stoney Chart. Each week see's a different Stoney Roads writer share 10 tracks that they have been listening too throughout the week, new or old. If you have missed either of the first 2 weeks charts I seriously recommend you check them out! Week 1: Kish's Chart and Week 2: Sandro's Chart were full of awesome music. Toro Y Moi's "Say That" takes the cake as my favorite but there’s 19 other gems [...]
The Grammy's just got over and done with a few hours ago. As usual, the RIAA missed out on a lot, so here's a Five at 5 featuring five Grammy Award categories with songs that maybe should have won instead (or songs that were better off not winning, whichever way you think). Check it out. 1. Madeon - 'Icarus' - Best Dance Recording I first heard of young Madeon through Pete Tong last year. Last I heard, he was on the Lolla 2013 in Brazil and Chile, after playing Coachella, the Electric Daisy, and [...]

Potential blizzard conditions in New England seem to be on the near horizon and so too will be a weekend away from work for millions of people. In preparation, ...
After our time spent at Falls Festival in Marion Bay, Tasmania, we’ve developed a somewhat informative list (I make lists all the time) of 9 rules/tips, that can hopefully help out future Falls-goers by learning from our many mistakes and few victories. Rule #1: Get your grog in. This one’s key. I don’t want to make us all out to sound like useless alcoholics and that you need a bottle of Captain Morgan’s Spiced Gold each day to have a good time – but it’s the truth. And [...]

Sydney, Australia’s Field Day 2013 went off on New Years Day. Field Day provided amazing music including catering for one hell of a closing set, taking on Sydney’s infamously expensive inner city noise restriction costs to make sure that Hot Chip played lived. With shows from Two Door Cinema Club, Hot Chip, SBTRKT, Mark Ronson, The Vaccines, Erol Alkan, Disclosure, Krafty Kuts & A-Skillz, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Fake Blood, Booka Shade, DJ Nu-Mark, Django Django, Adrian Lux, Coolio and many many more. It's that time at last! Triple J Hottest 100 voting has opened. For those that don't let their musical intelligence be insulted by Triple J, this year promises to be another hard slog at getting those 10 tracks perfectly right, so that you can just tick them off as they come up one by one on the 26th January. Well... at least that's what it used to be like. It's been only 10 years ago now, that Queens of the Stone Age held the number 1 spot with their mental track "No One Knows", and only five years [...]

We haven’t been hearing too much from Gang Colours since the release of his (brilliant) debut album, The Keychain Collection , on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings . Word has it that Will Ozanne has been submerged in his studio, putting the final touches on his sophomore effort, which should be available early 2013. Though he is frequently likened to artists such as Gold Panda , Four Tet , and Floating Points , Gang Colours ’ sound is very much his own, characterized by soft piano chords, warm, thick percussion, and understated electronic [...]

Another Monday and to commemorate the crushing mundanity the day embodies with a most despairing inherence, we're back here divulging a further ten tracks from our 2012 ranking. Our previous instalment took in a Fuck Button, the irrefutably inimitable Bobby Womack, and a lo-res JPG of a cat in a box . This one, meanwhile, clicks through a smattering of woebegone London lo-fi, a couple snared from the Captured Tracks roster, the inevitable Hot Chip entry, and something ever so slightly special from Sam Willis who was once, all in all, just another [...]

Charli XCX (feat. Brooke Candy) – “Cloud Aura” If the whole of pop culture was a person, ate a 15-foot long Pixy stick, and tossed its cookies, this would be the glorious mess left on the floor. Flying Lotus - "Tiny Tortures" Not only do we approve of Lotus' implied meditation of the relationship of man and machine, but Elijah Wood finally looks badass with a robot arm. Hot Chip – “Don’t Deny Your Heart” If soccer matches really went [...]
FIELD DAY MAKES WONDERFUL …WITH LINE-UP OF ACHINGLY COOL PROPORTIONS Field Day 2013 makes wonderful! Leave 2012 behind and get excited for all the good things to come in 2013.
