Their video Look At Where We Are is already featured as our video of the week, but Hot Chip seems to be living in front of a camera these days. They just cranked out the visuals for " How Do You Do " (from their last album " In Our Heads ", a mellow, slightly electronic track, the unassuming quality of which is echoed by this very amusing video full of vintage special effects and kitsch imagery - directed by Rollo Jackson.

So Hot Chip   is back with another nonsensical video for " Look At Where We Are " off of their most recent album In Our Heads . It includes a mad scientist observing a seemingly dead yet beautiful woman, then cutting open either his, or her, tail, and then taking that stuffing and placing it in her head, along with, oh you know, some strawberries that then create a blinding hypnotic mess taking the two back in time to her past as a... model who hates strawberries? Just in time for my return from the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago this weekend, Hot Chip have released a new video for their In Our Heads  cut "Look At Where We Are." Although they didn't play this track during their set on Saturday, their sunset-backdropped performance did reveal some previously unseen emotive subtleties to their music-subtleties that come in ample supply both on this song and in its accompanying video. Hot Chip started out as this sort of Weezer -like entity within the electronica-dance scene. When they first appeared in 2004, they were enticingly regarded as a sort of nerd-pop group, as they openly admitted their infatuation with Prince and wore their Dad jeans. The sound of a crowd and the inaugural rhythm provide the gateway into Hot Chip's fifth full-length,  In Our Heads . Layer upon layer of drums and synths teleport you through the history of the universe. Don't reach for the barf bag as you spiral through the space-time continuum. A resolutely good band with some irrefutably great songs, Hot Chip are an infinitely intriguing proposition. Hot Chips newest album, In Our Heads, officially releases this upcoming Tuesday, the 12th.
