Joe Goddard of the famed indie band Hot Chip stopped by the Boiler Room to spin 45 minutes of some of his favorite grime tracks. Of course, we are familiar with Goddard's eclectic music offerings from past experience, but this shows off yet another side of his artistic palette. I am not well-versed in this realm of music, so not everything is immediately recognizable, but bass and uptempo rhythms are definitely at the forefront here. Extra grimy, if you know what I mean. The 2 Bears , aka Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell, just unveiled this video for the laid-back summery song "Warm & Easy", off the duo's debut album "Be Strong". The video follows the Girl & Chocolate skateboard riders, aka Trunk Boyz, were touring early this year in Panama, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Below, you can preview Leo Zero's tasty remix of the track. The single is out now on Out now on DFA/Southern Fried Records. Directed by Federico Vitetta.

One exciting name in electronic music remixing another. Of course it's good. It's Goddard. The low humming bass reminds me a little of "I Go Hard I Go Home" by The Presets. Hot Chip started out as this sort of Weezer -like entity within the electronica-dance scene. When they first appeared in 2004, they were enticingly regarded as a sort of nerd-pop group, as they openly admitted their infatuation with Prince and wore their Dad jeans. A resolutely good band with some irrefutably great songs, Hot Chip are an infinitely intriguing proposition. Vampire Weekend's bassist Chris Baio is set to release a solo EP called Sunburn on May 21st via Greco-Roman - a label co-run by Hot Chip's Joe Goddard.     Parece ser que los integrantes de Vampire Weekend no pueden quedarse sin hacer nada, en este periodo de descanso le dedican tiempo a sus proyectos como solistas. Primero fue  Rastam  Batmanglij, y ahora el Chris Baio nos presenta "Tanto" rola que incluye la colaboración de Matias Aguayo y que saldrá en el EP  Sunburn que editará Greco-Roman, el label de Joe Goddard de Hot Chip.
