Check Yo Ponytail is back tomorrow and returns to an already sold out show with Blonde Redhead, The Luyas, and Bass Drum of Death. For our first show of the Summer, we've shifted from our regularly scheduled Tuesday time slot to Friday, just in time to kick off your 4th of July weekend. This Saturday, Team IHEARTCOMIX is going head to head with the Swimming with Sharks team at the Standard in Downtown Los Angeles. Franki Chan will be joined by Steven Bloodbath, Louisahhh! and Killing Spree residents Nightchilde and Zane. The SWS team is comprised of M/B (Acid Girls) and Pools (Mike B + Morse Code). Stereo Total are true performers in every sense of the word. Their stage presence has always been infused with a high energy quirk that is specific to this French/German pop act, and Tuesday's performance was no exception. There was dancing, jumping, high fiving, and a flurry of fans singing away regardless of whether or not they knew the words (most of the songs were in either French, German, or Spanish). Last week, there was an essence of seduction that flew in from New York for a special Bass meets Rockabilly edition of Check Yo Ponytail. Drop The Lime and his lovely multi-talented/beautiful bandmembers were simply stunning as they performed live for an ecstatic audience that have been anticipating the debut of the new setup. The night had plenty more in store for the weekday crowd, hometown djs, Classixx did not disappoint as they brought out a barrage of classic house and disco anthems. Last Tuesday found Check Yo Ponytail at its finest. Andrew W.K., Wavves, and Trash Talk rounded out one of the most thrilling lineups LA has seen in awhile. Tickets were sold out entirely before the show, and legions of concertgoers lined up on the sidewalk of Glendale Blvd. hours before the show, waiting to get their chance to party hard...and that is exactly what they did. As i've mentioned here before , IHEARTCOMIX teamed up in March with Mad Decent and Media Contender to create the perfect getaway for a few friends and family while everyone was down in Miami for Ultra. Check out this video recap of all the fun and relaxation at our secret mansion hideaway, located right on the water. There was great food, delicious drinks, beautiful women, and some of the best djs in the world all lounging by the pool at this more than exclusive event.
