Win our top 31 albums of 2012 ! Read the original review Given the considerable success Passion Pit 's first album Manners garnered, it's always interesting to see what a new band will follow-up with. And while not a huge departure from their debut, Gossamer shows a surprising amount of restraint for a band known for their euphoric blend of electropop. While "Take A Walk" wasn't necessarily the first single everybody was [...]

Being huge fans of The Hood Internet , I pretty much love every mix they ever put out, but they have brought it to another level with this Passion Pit x Big K.R.I.T. mashup called “I’ll Be Country”. Taking the frantic instrumentation of “I’ll Be Alright”, and K.R.I.T. speedy vocals of “Country Shit”, this successful magic trick, works in all the right places. The Hood Internet record, Feat , drops October 2nd via Decon.

Four years after the belated Valentine's-Day-gift-turned-hy ped-EP Chunk of Change , the formation of a five member band, a charming debut LP ( Manners ) and popularity and adoration that have made them household names (more like apartment/loft for the young and hip), Michael Angelakos has a lot to be proud of regarding his electro-pop project Passion Pit . But what he has in store for their second [...]

"Poignant yet bursting with personality. This is THE album of the summer..." Passion Pit | Gossamer On hearing their debut EP Chunk of Change, It’s doubtful that anyone would have predicted Passion Pit to evolve into the indie juggernauts they are today. Surpassing expectations, they fashioned a multi-layered, colorful sound that engaged us back in 2009 with album Manners. Now the electro pop headliners return with more of their long-awaited, bright and effervescent sound on second album Gossamer with Angeakos hinting that there ‘ ’ [...]
Passion Pit get weird for the video of new single, “I’ll Be Alright”. An art museum security guard, dozes off and has an intense hallucination about living art. He particularly develops an infatuation with a gold mouth, who is lip syncing the entire track. I was not expecting the video for a song as fun as this to be what is it, but it’s highly entertaining, nonethe less. Gossamer will be out next week on Columbia. Pre-order it here .

Even though Passion Pit just cancelled their upcoming tour due to singer Michael Angelakos' declining mental health, that's not stopping them from dropping the videos they had lined up. They started a contest to find the next video for their track "I'll Be Alright" with the prize being $3,000 and judging by the winner's entry, it would've been a difficult submission to top. The imagery and imagination in it is stunning. "I'll Be Alright" is taken from the band's new album [...]
Blasting out with the American gang's trademark hectic energy, the second single of Passion Pit 's last album Gossamer contrasts delighfully with the soporific atmosphere of a contemporary art exhibition. Charged with an underlying sensual tension from the onset, " I'll Be Alright " stumbles into the rabbit hole when a bored attendant suddenly sees a singing mouth appear from a gilded freemason-like triangle. The thump of extravagance occurs as the guard embraces the golden art-piece mouth : clocks turn into Dali pudding, people's necks turn into human chimneys and two Dionysiac characters [...]

Passion Pit are the indie electro-pop outfit that skyrocketed past expectations with their danceable, delicious 2009 debut, Manners. Three years later, the band’s sophomore effort is called Gossamer , which really, couldn’t be more fitting. “Gossamer” means something that is light, thin, fresh; you imagine delicate fabric blowing about in a gust of soft wind. Gossamer (the album) definitely evokes this sense of lightness, but with a catch; behind a thinly veiled exterior, not all is as it seems. This is the concept behind Passion Pit’s excellent second LP: heaviness contrasted [...]

This year we're being treated to comeback albums by a slew of artists who are trying to follow-up the huge success of their debut album, perhaps none more so than Passion Pit or The xx . Passion Pit dropped their debut LP Manners back in 2009 and became one of that year's Summer-soundtracked bands, with "Sleepyhead" being blasted from houses, cars, pubs, clubs, and clowns living in sewers , it was almost inescapable. Earlier this year [...]

I made a comment on Twitter this afternoon about how this new Passion Pit song sounds like a track from POP ETC 's new album. After "Take A Walk" and "I'll Be Alright" , "Constant Conversations" is the glossiest of R&B-Pop jams we've heard yet, much like the whole sound of POP ETC self-titled new album , yet when POP ETC do it they get their shit torn [...]

Watch Passion Pit's return with "Take A Walk" from their new album, Gossamer, out July 24

Have you ever wondered what a “kaleidoloop” was? Well, rest easy, my friends: Passion Pit have got all the answers right here. The “kaleidoloop” is the instrument (instrument?) which distorts singer Michael Angelakos’s voice into the fantastic frenzy that is their latest track, “I’ll Be Alright.” The song is the second released from the upcoming full-length Gossamer, out July 24. Luckily, “I’ll Be Alright” improves upon its predecessor, “Take a Walk.” It proves that Passion Pit haven’t lost the spunk that made 2009’s Manners such a hit, while adding layer and an ecstatic, constant commotion to [...]

Passion Pit are still six or seven weeks away from releasing their second album Gossamer and we've already heard the absolutely wonderful 'Take A Walk' but today they've unleashed its second single 'I'll Be Alright'. It's an aural onslaught. Chopped up and rearranged slabs of electronica pound away over four minutes, bookended by some wonderfully helter skelter sections. The group also took the opportunity to announce an extensive US tour running from June to November. Check out 'I'll Be Alright' below.

Love this band, here is their latest single off their new album titled Gossamer , available July 23
Wrap your chops around this one for a Wednesday morning. I think Passion Pit are indicating to us that their new album "Gossamer" will be of epic proportions.
