10 days ago, America experienced one of the most important days in it's history, and for us here in DC, we were lucky enough to have a front row seat to the celebration. These are trying times to be sure, pretty much everyone is feeling the pinch. But it says so much that people can still [...]

Photo by Joshua Cogan Riding around BK yesterday listening to Hot97, DJ Envy dropped this "jewelry" on the public. Nearly crashed the whip... Here is the full version I received in my inbox at 5:38am this morning. I totally forgot to post it earlier, and by the download count on zshare, I see almost 40,000 downloaded it since this morning. Well anyway, here it goes... Download: Jay-Z - When The Money Goes I was going to find some old random Jigga photo on the net when I thought [...]
Inauguration Part 1 from clandestine on Vimeo. Video uploaded on Friends or Enemies of Chicago pop-punk superstars Fall Out Boy at President Barack Obama's historic inauguration.
yeah, that's the longest title i've ever had on this blog. but this is pretty huge! bill o'reilly and dennis miller (yeah, the comedian. his political commentary is incredible though.) criticize rappers young jeezy and jay-z for their "my president is black" performance in DC over inauguration weekend. i think that dennis miller keeps it as trill as possible, and while o'reilly is always a jackass, his reasoning is pretty sound. i hear both sides, though. they weren't trying to be racist, but they were simply expressing their joy [...]

Resident Tripwire videographer Maia Stern was lucky enough to get tickets to the inauguration ceremonies on Tuesday. But her luck didn't stop there, because she got to attend the private Shepard Fairey inauguration party where both Santogold and De La Soul performed, while <a href=" http://www.moby.com/" target="new"Moby DJ'd. Apparently there was no sighting of the Obamas dancing to "At Last" like they did at ten other parties, there was plenty of good vibes to make up for it. Lucky for us, she took her camera with [...]
Ah, what could be better than to gather a million or so people in one place to listen to tapes? Okay, admittedly, the music at the inauguration wasn't the main focus, but it's still a little cheesy that Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Gabriella Montero and Anthony McGill were sort-of miming. Not quite miming, as they played along with the tape, but their instruments weren't amplified. Which makes the official explanation - fears that the cold weather would damage the instruments - seem a little confusing. Violinist Itzhak Perlman said "it would have been a [...]
If you were wondering how Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman managed to deliver a flawless performance in the below freezing temperatures of Tuesday's Presidental Inauguration, think again. Turns out the classical quartet who played prior to Obama's swearing into office, managed to pull a fast one on viewers as a prerecorded track was played for all to hear instead of the real deal. As television screens and jumbo-trons projected the illusion of a moving, live performance of John Williams ' [...]
it is no secret that THE BOSS is a huge supporter of our BRAND NEW FUNKY PRESIDENT. here are some videos in honor of that connection... on sunday, during the "We Are One" Concert at the Lincoln Memorial, Ba-Rruce sang "The Rising" with a huge choir... he also sang with folk hero Pete Seeger .... two days before Inauguration, Barack Obama makes his last speech as President-Elect...

The line-up: Stevie Wonder, Jaime Foxx, Beyonce, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Sting, Shakira, Will.i.am, Mary J. Blige, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys. Wows.

And it just happens to be the selling ticket for her Ballads compilation, which contains "How Much" with Usher, which is uptempo. Anyway, she's back in the studio.

Usually, when I report from unfamiliar cities, I pay close attention to characteristics that make particular locales special. For example, in Alabama, most men molest their siblings. In Los Angeles, when people move, they take their refrigerators with them. But while my amateur socio-anthropological musings can open eyes to fellow foreigners, they can also ring generic, obvious, and lazy to those already in the know. For that reason I planned to avoid making such observations while covering the Inauguration in Washington, but then I realized that this city – as it looks, feels, and moves right now, at [...]

Fashion face-off! On Wednesday's Ellen DeGeneres Show , the talk show host sports an over-the-top hat similar to the one that Aretha Franklin wore to Barack Obama 's historic inauguration. "That would of been so embarrassing. The next thing you know, we would have been in Us Weekly's 'Who Wore it Better? They said this is the only one they made! I can't believe it!" On Tuesday, bloggers criticized [...]

Looks like the Jiggaman is a fan of Barack too. So far me and Prodigy of Mobb Deep are the only two people connected with rap that supported Ron Paul. Whatever. Sean Carter also dropped a pretty interesting remix to Jeezy's "My President Is Black".. which is posted below: [See post to listen to audio] DOWNLOAD: Jay-Z - My President Is Black (Remix) Kanye was of course also in attendance: [...]
