This isn't déjà vu, this is just part two. If anyone's counting, this is the second Incan Abraham residency we've had the privilege of presenting. Back in June 2011, the band was just coming into their own as an "up-and-comer" with a few EPs under their belt and a swarm of devoted fans following them from show to show. Since then, they've released yet another fantastic (and free) EP "Ancient Vacation," impressed a hard-to-impress Wiltern audience opening for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye, and now have been offered one of the prime residency [...]

[NEW EP] Incan Abraham: Ancient Vacation Close to this time last year I was introduced to Incan Abraham at The Pantry Party’s annual Texas Fire House shindig. Make sure not to miss out this Saturday, Oct 15th. All proceeds go to local food pantries. As I was saying, Incan Abraham came from L.A. to play CMJ and played at the Texas Fire House as well. I’ve been a passionate supporter since seeing them there. There are few bands that live up to their recorded sound. Incan Abraham manages to exceed [...]

Tonight's things: ► I love lyric videos, because, well, you know, I might miss a magical turn of a phrase or something. So in honor of her sold-out show at the Troubadour tonight, there's the clip for Christina Perri's "Arms," which, along with other hits "So You Think You Can Dance" made famous, appears on her album "Lovestrong," which came out in May. HoneyHoney and Sarah Ault support, and they're well worth early arrival. ► Wedding singer Ellie Goulding — we kid, of course; it was the [...]
► Death Cab For Cutie headlines the El Rey Theatre behind its new album "Codes and Keys." Above is the band's video for "You're a Tourist," which was broadcast as it was filmed, in a single take. The Lonely Forest , whose album "Arrows" is out on Chris Walla's Trans Records, opens. ► Band of Skulls , along with Rachel Goodrich , are back for a second night at the Bootleg Theater. ► Anna Calvi , whose self-titled debut came out in March, visits the Troubadour. ► Incan Abraham [...]
We were quite smitten with Incan Abraham when we first caught them early last year at El Cid back when they were called Red Tide. Subsequent shows since then have only solidified their place in L.A.'s psych-pop scene however recently they've progressed to even more spaced-out, drum circle on Mars territory. It's sexy, celestial dance rock stuff and we love it. Be sure to download both their "

INCAN ABRAHAM AND A HOUSE FOR LIONS ON TUESDAY MAR. 29TH AT THE ECHO, 1822 WEST SUNSET BOULEVARD, LOS ANGELES. 8:30PM/ $5/ 18+

Blurring the lines between psychedelia and pop isn't groundbreaking these days with the likes of Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective swirling their harmonies in between tight rhythms. However, it is refreshing to hear a band take the formula and bring it into new light. In that way, L.A. quartet Incan Abraham has allowed its sound to bask in the SoCal sunshine. Formerly calling themselves Red Tide, Giuliano Pizzulo, Spencer Mandel, Andrew Clinco, and Teddy Cafaro haven't been a band for too long, but they've put out three substantial EPs. The second, "Adult World," was only a four-song release, [...]

In order to counter balance the awfulness that is Lady Gaga's new song (the girl has talent, but this song is plain horrible), I felt it necessary to post something that will not make your ears bleed. Head on over to bandcamp and snag some other equally chill songs from Incan Abraham. Bring on the Gaga loving hate mail... MP3: Incan Abraham: Third Man MP3: Incan Abraham: Sunscreen
