North London's Daughter consists of lena Tonra, Igor Haefeli & Remi Aguilella. The group released two quality EPs in 2011, including The Wild Youth EP, which was released last October. "Youth" and "Home" (not to be confused with the two Foxes tracks we posted recently) are both excellent examples of the superb folk music created by the trio. Listen to both tracks below. Video: Lucius - "Go Home"

Video: Lucius - "Go Home" For a Brooklyn band, Lucius sound incredibly twangy like a country band. On Valentine's Day, the group will release a self-titled EP. The band has released a video for the EP track "Go Home" that was directed by Tika Buchanan (Arkadia & Co). The new video uses stop-motion animation to bring to life Japanese ball-jointed dolls sculpted in the band's likeness. One of the dolls gets naked, so NSFW I guess? Watch the new video below. Sweet Sweet Moon – I see things that you don´t see and that is blue, blue, black and Dylan

Sweet Sweet Moon - I See Things That You Don´t See And That Is Blue, Blue, Black And Dylan
Und natürlich auf Toni Traubensaft und sein Cello, die ihm auf "I see things that you don´t see and that is blue, blue, black and Dylan" zur Seite stehen. Mehr davon? Gibt's bei Siluh Records . Lower Dens-Novo Single: "Brains"

Lower Dens - Brains
O novo

The Middle East (Mree cover)

The Middle East (Mree cover) Need to send out a big thanks to Tristan who emailed this hauntingly beautiful cover from a rising YouTube star. Mree (pronounced Marie) is launching a music career herself via YouTube (a platform that's being utilised in so many great ways by unsigned artists) and her version of The Middle East's Blood is so beautiful. Already watched it about 6 times this morning and I do recommend a decent set of headphones or speakers, a little laptop won't do it justice. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMe_5O 0mYj0

Introducing… Freedom Fry

Introducing… Freedom Fry Marie (Paris) and Bruce Driscoll (New York) aka Freedom Fry came together with the pure intention of creating alluring and exquisite music. Using both French and English lyrics, the pair have hit the nail on the head when it comes to their sound which is already distinctive and inspired. The above stream is taken from their recent debut 5-track EP, 'Let The Games Begin', which throughout incorporates their love of autoharps, ukeleles, dulcimers and harpischords and the this next song is a great example of that. The next [...]

Each day I go through multiple music submissions from up-and-coming artists, as well as their managers and fans. James Vincent McMorrow – Live at Paradiso

James Vincent McMorrow – Live at Paradiso In the run up to the release of the new European Special Edition album and hot off a full European tour, the JVMM camp released a beautiful video and tour montage featuring two of his songs that we here at Mahogany adore. His audiences all over the world are growing radidly but it's Western Europe that seems to be very strong at the moment and who can blame them given their amazing selection of great acoustic venues like the Paradiso in Amsterdam!

WHISTLE PEAK-Half Asleep on Echo Falls

WHISTLE PEAK-Half Asleep on Echo Falls Music to be stoned to. Not high, stoned . Whistle Peak's lo-fi Americana fits in well with bands like Yeasayer and Colossal Gospel-bands who take traditional elements and play them a little ... Strangely. Sometimes there's an off-key accordi0n or a suffocated vocal. It's always a little bit whimsical, a little bit painful, and never, ever takes itself too seriously. It's music that's willing to take a chance at failure, or at doing something radical and weird. It's never broad, but never narrow. Hopefully, by the time you've read down to hear you're confused and curious enough [...]

Town Hall: Brooklyn Indie-Folk Band Cover Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" / New EP Available as Free Download

Town Hall: Brooklyn Indie-Folk Band Cover Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" / New EP Available as Free Download Sticky Notes & Paper Scraps by Town Hall Town Hall "sold me" with their acoustic re-interpretation (and the vocals trade-offs between Stefan Weiner and Phoebe Ryan) of Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" so I gave the band's new EP, "Sticky Notes & Paper Scraps" a spin. This is a mellow "late night" disc that is powered by the two vocalists with instrumentation like mandolin and omnichord carefully woven in beneath the vocals. Most of the songs fall into the "alt-folk" genre but the exceptions are the Appalachian/alt-country [...]
