Metalcore band Of Mice and Men have announced that bassist and clean vocalist Shayley Bourget will be leaving the band due to personal reasons. The band, including Bourget, has made a video addressing the issue which you can check out below. In the video, Bourget discusses his life while his bandmates support him and his decision.

The K-Pop meter on this track is off the charts. But contrary to what you might think, this band, Girlfriends, is a trio out of Denmark, not Soeul. With a poppy synth beginning that gives way to a more indie rock guitar backing, it's easy, breezy, and refreshing. Check out their music here - they've got 4 songs, including this one, available to download for free. Nowhere Near Your Heart by GIRLFRIENDS

Crooked Fingers' 2011 album Breaks in the Armor was one of the year's most underrated. If you haven't checked it out yet, it comes highly recommended from Earbuddy's Chris Bell. Eric Bachmann and company have released a new video for "Our New Favorite" from that album. Watch it below. Read more »
Factory Floor - "What You Say (live at Sub-Sonic)" Taken back in November courtesy of the wondrous lads and ladies of Fred Perry Subculture , here's this ridiculously swirling and soaring video from Factory Floor for "What You Say". Godspeed!
Sharon Van Etten releases her third full length (first offical) release -- Tramp . Since February is the shortest month of the year, I'm thinking it's going to have to be the most condensed with interesting releases, and this first week goes some ways to proving the theory true. New releases from Sharon Van Etten, Dr. Dog, Air, Of Montreal, The Twilight Sad and Mark Lanegan certainly make their cases. There's also new releases from The Duke Spirit, Ben Kweller, Die Antwoord, an EP from Davila 666, the return of Van Halen, and [...]

I'm loving the surge of animated videos lately. The latest one is from Gringo Star for "Come Alive" from their album Count Yer Lucky Stars and features the band having fun with Legos and stop-motion animation. Watch the new video below. Read more »

After a second, third and fourth batch of my Lemon Curd and Sour Cherry Bars I still had some lemon curd and cherries wasting away in the refrigerator. I figured it would just stay there until the day (yesterday) when all I had in the house to eat was gluten and I was so desperate for something, anything else that I'd grab the nearly moldy curd and shriveled cherries and shove them into my mouth. But Jacqueline made the waiting unnecessary when she posted this . Ahh, lemon curd and cherries squeezed between puffy cakes that Queen [...]

Anna Calvi showed up on Daytrotter with some cool live tracks. The rendition of her "Love Won't Be Leaving" is my favorite here, what with the almost schizo shifts from sweet vocals and guitarwork to power distorted versions. The TV on the Radio cover, "Wolf Like Me," is good but a little too tame for my tastes since the original's so rocking.

What does it take to be Paste Magazine 's most anticipated album of 2012? It has to be widely accepted by strip clubs. Instead of sending their music to the media, Diamond Rugs, the collaboration of John McCauley (Deer Tick), Robbie Crowell (Deer Tick), Ian Saint Pé (The Black Lips), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Hardy Morris (Dead Confederate) and Bryan Dufresne (Six Finger Satellite), decided to send three CD singles to over 50 strip clubs. Strip club connoisseurs and employees loved what they heard, and now that sentiment is shared by the aforementioned popular indie zine. [...]

"Four dudes raised by alcoholic wolves. Fast rhythms and sweet melodies. Loud mouths. Leather jackets. Last spotted without t-shirts. Stripped down, New York-styled garage rock and roll that pays tribute to the punk and power-pop movement of the late 19702s. This debut album is for those who like to shake and pogo". Picture a steaming night at the Marquee , Soho, London circa 1978, New Wave/Punk kids bouncing of the walls to an amphetamine induced tantrum, a fabulous image from exciting times for pre-digital guitar based music. It's no secret that FOX has a habit of canceling its best shows (to this day I still want to have a serious talking to with whoever decided Arrested Development had run its course). And after a recent Lie to Me obsession this summer, I was devastated to find there was no Season 4 to continue my marathon. So consider this playlist Part 1 of a final lament to yet another show that ended before its time. Lie to Me is a drama centered around Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth - [...]
