Los Angeles' duo BoardWalk , Mike Edge and Amber Quintero, started recording music together last summer. The dreamy and ethereal "I'm To Blame" is the first release and calls to mind early releases by Beach House or Tennis. In other words, despite sounding pretty minimalist and DIY in nature, the tune is nonetheless atmospheric and lovingly melodic. Take a listen and let me know what you think. The track is available in a limited-edition flexi from Stones Throw .

The New Union.
Music has an igniting ability, sound travels through speakers, amps, earphones--and into our ears--illuminating and transcending our experience. If you haven't checked out the Texan quartet, Explosions In The Sky's and their album, Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, you must!... READ MORE

It's hard to say that The Love Language are "back," because unless you were paying close attention in 2008, you might not have even noticed Raleigh, North Carolina-based Stuart McLamb's project had ever arrived. "Calm Down" should help even the most oblivious music listeners take notice of the startlingly underappreciated group; the song combines the wild and bombastic psych-drivers of Deerhunter's Microcastle with The Love Language's own patented brand of jangly indie rock. There's a lot more power in "Calm Down" than The Love Language is used to weilding - but there's no going back now.

First off, let me explain to you what I am all about. I'm not here to reiterate information on bands and music that you yourself can Google and figure out on your own. For example: I am not going to tell you all about Alt-J's early career and musical styles because that would involve me googling them and re-wording what other people have wrote. Quit being lazy and figure that shit out on your own. The reason you are reading this post and this blog is to hear what music lovers have to say about amazing albums being released in [...]

Dead Confederate 's latest LP, In the Marrow , has slowly become one of favorite releases of the year. Carried by T. Hardy Morris' pained Georgian twang, DC's third album features both sides of their haunted southern grunge sound: brooding dirges as heard in 2008's Wrecking Ball and smoother, punchier tracks as heard in 2010's Sugar . The lead single, Vacations, is one of their brightest and most catchiest pop songs yet and, to match the [...]
Interesting new video of The Features’ single “This Disorder,” previously reviewed HERE, featuring cool breakdance moves and a parrot. I like the idea of being a risk taker. By it's very nature, it sounds adventurous and exciting. It sounds totally baller. It's the essence of YOLO (and FIDLAR for that matter). But although I like the idea of being a risk taker in theory, I'm not a risk taker in practice. Not a true risk taker. I mean, sure, I'll take calculated risks. And, yeah, I'll bet small stakes. But I'm not not the type of guy to bet the house on nothing more than chance. If I had to guess, based solely on Junip's sophomore album, [...]

Selten so gelacht. Ist aber egal, das Album "Honestly, This World" soll fr sich stehen. [...]

With his remix of The xx's "Hot Like Fire" making ground into being an Internet smash, teen-aged producer BeazyTymes opts to follow the "If it ain't broke..." motif for his latest tune, a return to the The xx catalog that finds him taking on the band's debut album cut "Shelter" and giving it a modern-day jeep jam bump with a sprinkling of trap rattle n' snap, booming bass and some eardrum seducing R&B chords. After hearing these two recent two gems, Beazy can do us a favor and turn this XX-re-imagining thing [...]
Fresh off the web with a new artist for everyone to indulge in! It's not your thing to indulge? That's okay! We're here to change your mind with some good music! Let me introduce you to this five-piece band with a dream-wave sound known as Walla. Feel free to comment at the bottom of the post! ...

Finding a way to accurately describe a band to someone without them actually hearing an artist's music can sometimes be a difficult task. This time, Step Rockets described themselves for us. As quoted from their website , they sound like "Pink Floyd and The Clash playing at an MGMT party." I couldn't help but get a good laugh from reading this because after I thought about it for awhile, it was a pretty accurate description. They may be found in either the alternative or indie rock section at the local record store but they bring [...]

Combining their "hindie-rock" vibe with groovy pop, Elephant Stone are on another level of abstract, creative psychedelia. It's a great sound with nuances of '60s pop which we've taken a strong liking to. Have a read as Elephant Stone spoke with AMBY about their latest album Elephant Stone , falling off risers, and the unknown! AMBY: How would you describe Elephant Stone's sound to those unfamiliar with your music? Elephant Stone: Hindie-Rock. AMBY: You have recently released your latest album Elephant Stone , which [...]
