The South Asian Bands Festival is an annual three-day music festival held in New Delhi. Organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, and Seher , the multi-genre-spanning event takes place every year at Purana Qila, New Delhi, and features bands from all the SAARC countries. New Delhi alt rock acts Indigo Children and The Circus played Live, New Delhi on Thursday, October 27 as part of the pre-parties for the Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2011 . The Circus kicked off the night's proceedings, their set comprising music from their debut album From Space ( stream here ). New Delhi garage rockers Indigo Children have announced a ' Summer Tour ' spanning three days and hitting Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore in the first week of August. The band re-united late in 2010 after a being out of action for a while, after their success with Soundpad . More recently the band played at the Escape Festival in Naukuchiatal and the Clonefest in New Delhi's Ashok Amphitheatre. New Delhi alt rock band Them Clones kicked off their ten-city "singles" tour at The Ashok Amphitheatre in the capital on June 11. The third edition of the Escape Festival was held at Naukuchiatal last weekend, between May 20 and 22. Escape is one of the few Indian "music festivals" that stays true to its claim - the experience for attendees isn't just about the music. Inclement weather meant that the seven-hour journey from New Delhi to Naukuchiatal took us 15 hours. Delhi indie rockers Indigo Children are back in action. While no formal breakup was ever announced, the Soundpad winners have been on a lengthy hiatus, with no gig updates or news on their Facebook page since August last year. In that time, bassist Nikhil Rufus Raj has remained active with Another Vertigo Rush and last month, frontman Sanchal Malhar played a solo acoustic set in Delhi. DNA Entertainment Networks have finally confirmed the headliners for Rock In India 2010 . Sure, we told you some time ago that American boy band Backstreet Boys were lined up as top billing for the annual event that in the past has seen acts like Iron Maiden (2009) and Megadeth (2008) perform.
