The Twilight Sad : Another Bed Ούτε στη Σκωτία την ίδια δε θα βρεις τόσο βαρειά προφορά. Αλλά πάλι μήπως τραγουδάνε όλοι όπως ο James Graham ; Οι πουρίστες που διυλίζουν τον κώνωπα θα μετρήσουν πόσο NIN και πόσο Radiohead είναι η εισαγωγή του "Sick", θα πουν ότι το No One Can Ever Know δεν είναι Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters , ότι είναι πιό εμβατηριακό κλπ. Εμένα πάντως (αν και δεν μου άρεσε το Forget the Night Ahead [...]

Since the indefinite hiatus / demise of Wolf Parade , Spencer Krug has been concentrating on new project Moonface . Last year saw the release of Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I'd Hoped and he has now announced a follow up that has been recorded with Finnish band Siinai called With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery. This is the first taste from the album and it is a stormer - all buzzing guitars, massive keyboards and nailgun percussion. And great lyrics! "Teary eyes and bloody lips [...]

Milagres released their new album, Glowing Mouth , last fall through Kill Rock Stars and have announced tour dates in support of the album. Check out the new dates below. Read more »

Ακούω πως η indie rock κρατάει ακόμα και πως πάντα βρίσκει κάποιον να βάλει ένα νέο χεράκι. Ωραία φωνή ο μικρός (όσο μένει στα μπάσα). Filed under: indie , rock Tagged: music , new hands
In 2009 Sarah Morrison posted here the song Good Boys, calling The Minor Leagues infectiously cheery. They are back in this 2012 with a new album. This band from Cincinnati on North College Hill will show you an orchestral dimension of pop music, only possible between the best music creators. It should be illegal to create such ilusions. This is a stellar remix of one of my favorite Submarine song. It does what a good remix should always do- keep the feeling of the original while adding distinctive flavor. The addition of the xylophone and accordion (or is it organs?), as well as the accentuation of Blake Hazard's vocals are slight but powerful nonetheless. Indie pop outfit San Cisco from Fremantle in sunny Western Australia deliver the follow up to "Golden Revolver." Today's featured track "Awkward" will be the title track on their second EP, to be releasing this month worldwide via their own label Island City. "Awkward" is a kooky call and response, featuring the debut vocals of drummer, Scarlett Stevens. It is a song that captures the stalker in all of us as vocalist. Jordi James calls to Scarlett: "Why do you hold on so tight? What do you feel?" San [...]

Moonface is the project of Spencer Krug , who is one of the vocalists and creative minds behind the great indie rock band Wolf Parade , as well as Sunset Rubdown . He teamed up recently with Siinai, a Finnish band of some sort. The details are a little arduous, but the results are pretty good. Teary Eyes and Bloody Lips is the lead single for the album and the sound is familar to anyone who has backgroud knowledge on Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown. Moonface will be releasing their album on April 17 [...]
The Other Tribe are a live 6 piece Bristol based band who have been very busy lately collaborating with the mighty Steve Dub, who has been helping produce their work. A double release is due on Black Butter recordings in the following few months and we would love to know what our readers think of them. They were also just voted best live act of 2011 by Bristol's very own Hijack. They are supporting We Have Band at the Cooler in Bristol on February 24th. In addition to the stellar music they also have a full [...]

The Piano chord progression on this track is simply lovely. Also dig the glitched out vocals in the bridge, something very close to my heart in terms of production. Gemini Club – By Surprise

The K-Pop meter on this track is off the charts. But contrary to what you might think, this band, Girlfriends, is a trio out of Denmark, not Soeul. With a poppy synth beginning that gives way to a more indie rock guitar backing, it's easy, breezy, and refreshing. Check out their music here - they've got 4 songs, including this one, available to download for free. Nowhere Near Your Heart by GIRLFRIENDS
Caught the end of these guys the other week when they supported Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. Finally got round to tracking them down and man, they do kill. Pop Singles kinda sound like Geoffrey O'Connor and classic local stuff like Go Betweens. They are great song writers - quite intricate at times, but, in [...]

Here's the video for the first ever solo track by Cut Copy bassist Ben Browning from his EP Lover Motion (don't think about that title too hard), due out March 19 via his band's Cutters label. The EP will feature synth work from Cut Copy vocalist Dan Whitford and production by Architecture In Helsinki members Gus Franklin and Haima Marriott . The song sounds a lot like Cut Copy but there's nothing wrong with that. The video is a [...]

Crooked Fingers' 2011 album Breaks in the Armor was one of the year's most underrated. If you haven't checked it out yet, it comes highly recommended from Earbuddy's Chris Bell. Eric Bachmann and company have released a new video for "Our New Favorite" from that album. Watch it below. Read more »

There has been an abundance of good music coming from our Australian fans in the past year or so. I'm sure there has been plenty of worthy artists for awhile, but the distance kind of separates us. I think that is starting to change. First we are getting the terrific indie/pop music from San Cisco and now music from folk quartet Busby Marou . The band consists of the leaders Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou , hence that name. Check out "Biding My Time," after one listen you'll be replaying it all day. Also, [...]
