M-Phases creates a fantastic remix of "I Never Learnt To Share," which is one of my favorite tracks from the debut full-length of singer-producer James Blake. Rather than embracing the track's original ambient atmosphere, Phazes samples numerous chunks of the song and turns it into a hard-hitting hip hop instrumental. Very nice! / via /

When James Blake released his debut self-titled LP this time last year, he quickly became a firm favourite of many a music nerd, myself included. But as excellent as James Blake the album is, it kind of fell off the play list after burning brightly on my iPod for a few months. In the end, it ended up being a little too wishy washy, I guess. Australian producer M-Phazes may share my view, if his rework of Blake's 'I Never Learnt To Share' is anything to go by. [...]

One of the most talked about artists of the year is, without a doubt, James Blake. 2010 was a great year for James, and 2011 is looking even better as his self-titled debut album is causing a huge commotion on practically every music and/or hipster blog on the planet. In his post-dub, electronica-rock masterpiece, James Blake captivates the mind and the soul, breaking the guard of even the most stolid of musical snobs. James sets the bar high with this album that it might be hard to top this for the rest of 2011. What he gives you is eleven [...]

Manuell - Multitalent! Becoming continually more ubiquitous in London gig listings by the week, tonight is the turn of the Borderline. Situated a stone's throw away from the Pillars of Hercules, a certain someone stage-right must feel forever more as though he's carting the future of the British music industry on his lofty shoulders just as Hercules himself once lugged herds of cattle over land and sea of antiquity. At six foot, several inches his head is far closer to the clouds than most of his contemporaries, yet it seems as though his feet are firmly rooted to the ground. Playing as part [...]
![[Cool] – James Blake’s “CMYK” EP On Vinyl Makes For Colourful Collection](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3074027_lg.jpg)
A couple of weeks ago I finally managed to get my hands on James Blake 's "CMYK" EP, opting for the Cyan blue vinyl. Not only did I not pick up on the name of the EP, but I also didn't pick up on the above. The EP was released on three different coloured vinyls; Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow, and when put together like the picture above they form a CMYK colour model. When I saw this late last night it blew my mind, but admittedly it had been a long day at work and [...]

English minimalist electronic producer James Blake is somebody you'll be hearing a lot of in the next year. We introduced you to the 22-year old visionary last month when he released his critically acclaimed droned out cover of Feist's "Limit To Your Love." But now, with the recent leak of his upcoming self-titled debut record (set for release in February of next year), the internet is on the cusp of being set ablaze with the ambitious dubstep-tinged, withdrawn bass-driven music of the musician. Check out a some footage of Blake's first live performance in his home country opening for Everything, [...]

Today James Blake dropped a previously unreleased track titled "I Never Learnt to Share". The song starts off quiet as he sings “My brother and my sister don’t speak to me / But I don’t blame them”. James Blake sings these words with a bluesy sadness for times long past, bridges burnt, love lost. As the track progresses, drums, bass, organ join in as this line loops over itself in increasing intensity and finally ends on a single note from thee organ. Simple, heartfelt and touching. I Never Learnt To Share [...]
