Madlib aka Otis Jackson is one of the most prolific producers in hip hop. The Oxnard, CA native has done it all. He's so well respected by musical peers, that the Blue Note record label gave him the individual recordings and stems of their legendary vault of music just for him to create his remix album, Shades of Blue. It's amazing. Not to mention he collaborated with one of the best hip hop producers to ever touch an MPC, J Dilla. Dig some of his music below, old and new. EZ - Blu - [...]

These are random verses from Inspectah Deck and Raekwon mixed in Madlib's latest work. Madlib Medicine Show #12
Apparently this joint came out last month, but this is the first I caught wind of it. Inspectah Deck slaughters the recent Nas beat "Nasty". INS and The Wu still the shit after all these years. INSPECTAH DECK - NASTY (FREESTYLE)
Madlib and Wu-Tang combine for this remix of Wu members Raekwon and Inspectah Deck's verses on Fire Water and Speak Real Words respectively. If it's possible the seminal rappers sound even more grimy with Madlib's raw, muffled production. Madlib + Wu-Tang = OHHHHH YEAAAAAH!

Here are a couple more track's from Madlib Medicine Show #12: Raw Medicine. Inspectah Deck & Raekwon verses are from two different original tracks - one by 7L & Esoteric, the other from Big Pun. Madlib Medicine Show #12 is shipping now from Stones Throw. Released everywhere next week, September 27th. [...]
Last month, our fearless leader Dave Reyneke reported on Madlib's forthcoming final entry in his Medicine Show series, Raw Medicine . The compilation, which drops Sept. 27, features more than one hour of remixes from the weed-loving producer/DJ, including these newly leaked tunes featuring Inspectah Deck , Raekwon , and AZ. Madlib has taken Deck and Rae's verses from other tracks and seamlessly turned them into one fuzzy tune. As for the AZ joint, well, it's a more straight-ahead spin on his "Never Change" track. It's also absolutely great. Hit the skip [...]

iTunes: Fantastic Plastic EP - Lee Bannon Lee Bannon, real name unknown, is a recluse. He is believed to be based out of the Sacramento area but born somewhere in the south. An anonymous source claiming to be a childhood friend of the producer describes his early forays into music, "When we were like 13 or 14, he got this Korg beat machine thing as a birthday present. We turned this old playhouse he had in his backyard into a little makeshift studio and he would make [...]
