Interpol’s Paul Banks details new solo album Following June's Julian Plenti Lives ... EP , Interpol frontman Paul Banks has announced plans for his second solo release in 2012. Banks drops the "Julian Plenti" moniker for this self-titled album, which hits stores on October 23rd via Matador Records. The 10-track effort was recorded in New York and Connecticut with producer Peter Katis (Interpol, The National, Jóni), and the end result is described as a "tour-de- force of exhilarating minor-key intensity." Interpol’s Paul Banks announces new solo EP Interpol frontman Paul Banks will return this fall with his second solo album, the follow up to 20092s Julian Plenti is... Skyscrappe r . Prior to that, he'll release a five-track EP,  Julian Plenti... Lives , which comprises an original number called "Summertime is Coming", an instrumental, and covers of J Dilla (!), Frank Sinatra, and Harold Faltermeyer (of "The Running Man" fame.) The EP, out June 12th via Matador Records, will be available digitally, and limited to 2300 vinyl and 1500 CD copies. Its wicked artwork is above.
