The Cribs just premiered their 2nd single 'Glitters Like Gold' from In The Belly of the Brazen Bull, over on Pitchfork today. The single will be released digitally on 8th July and on seven inch on 9th July. The album is in shops now. The video was directed by Andy Knowles and Stephen Agnew, and features "Pop Up Video" technology. If you click on the "band fact pop-ups" that appear during the video, it will open other videos related to those facts that feature the band members.

They are releasing their fifth full-length studio album, but if you haven't even heard of the Cribs, it's actually not that surprising; the northern English trio of brothers were one of the countless products of the post- Is This It  garage-rock revival that swept both sides of the pond in the early 2000s. Is it just me who actually liked Ignore the Ignorant ? I'm asking this as a serious question - I can think of nobody else I know who enjoyed that album. They give various reasons for their dislike of it: "It didn't sound like The Cribs!"; "Johnny Marr ruined it!";"It didn't work as an album!" Personally, I think they're wrong on all three counts, but then again, it did feature my absolute favourite song out of all their catalogue ( City of Bugs ) - well, at least it did until now.
