They've released a handful of awesome EPs, but now Dublin, Ireland's Cheap Freaks have a full length album under their belt as well. Bury Them All was released this week by Big Neck , who also released the bands debut 73, Play Four Songs back in 2009. You can snag Bury Them All on vinyl from the label for $12, and you can listen to the album track "Cryin' Shame" below!

We know it's been said in every blog post or review mentioning 21-year-old London-born/ Ireland-raised newcomer Maverick Sabre , but still, it's something that must be repeated: What an odd little voice this dude has! Cue the eye-rolling music crit math: Sabre's nasally, near-spoof-of-funk-vocalists croak sounds as if Mike Posner and Amy Winehouse had a baby (alongside siblings Daniel Merriweather, Plan B and Eamon) who grew up listening to nothing but Cee-Lo and Cameo records (in our minds, his first word was probably a Larry Blackmon-like "Owww!"); as annoying as this combination may sound on paper, it [...]
Madonna has a pretty high opinion of herself these days. Last week she was asked about her ticket prices for the world tour which was revealed this morning... "Start saving your pennies now," she said. "People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together, and come to my show. I'm worth it." You can find out for yourself when Madonna hits Dublin on July 24th in the Aviva Stadium. Tickets range from €54.65 to €141 including booking fee on sale 8am on Tuesday February 7th [...]

Tweet Land Lovers , a five piece band hailing from the land of Ireland have launched their delicious second release in the form of a record called "Confidants" through the artist-based collective Popical Islands last September. Their sound is based in richly decorated pop music; said decorative touches add a significance and interest that all great pop music within this genre strives to achieve. Popical Islands itself is a DIY group of musicians [...]
Take a train ride through the Irish countryside with Fionn Regan's new album, 100 Acres of Sycamore.
Watch a beautiful live video of James Vincent McMorrow performing 'Higher Love' and 'If I Had a Boat' in Amsterdam.

18-year-old Irish producer MMOTHS (Jack Colleran) released a reworked version of his single '<3' (or 'HEART') featuring Sarah from Grecian duo Keep Shelly In Athens . Although the song is basically the same as the original, KSIA add some heartwarming vocals to the dreamy track. Check out the video for the instrumental version of the song , a beautiful re-scoring of Michelangelo Antonioni's 1970 film Zabriskie Point . Listen to MMOTHS & KSIA's creation below. <3
Ave by Absolutist Absolutist is an Irish band with some extreme, uncompromising musical tendencies. Their latest release, Ave , hardcore punk tempos, crusty production, and some sludgy bass, too. The vocals have some character to them, and there's usually a nice element of harmony thrown into each track by the guitars. Look for this thing on Suburban Mayhem Records in February.
I've been listening to 'Alpha People' constantly since it premiered on Pitchfork last week. There's not many Irish bands who enjoy the benefit of a Pitchfork write-up for a new song. Perhaps the most acclaimed artist from Irish shores at the moment is Jape, yet search for him on P4k [Read more]

I've been flying back and forwards between Cork and London for nearly 6 and a half years now. Inspired by my last post with google maps screenshots of geographical landscapes, here are a variety of aerial photographs taken on my many flights between Ireland and the UK.

Youth Mass topped my list of new favorite bands last year , in part because they speak to the secretly emotional side of me who wells up like a teenager over earnest lyrics and heart-wrenching melodies. The more public part of me really digs them because they are extremely solid on every level. I was sold last year and I remain sold today. Last week, the band released their first official single, "Wide Eyes," and it is just gorgeous, a sweeping narrative underscored by what I've come to expect from the Irish lads - the perfect indie rock [...]

Here's a fresh cut from Solar Bear 's new album Supermigration. "Alpha People" bridges the gap between organic and electronic, resulting in an experimental-pop song sure to melt your heart. The track features soft vocals from Sarah of the up and coming band - Keep Shelly in Athens.
