Last weekend Isaac and GLC linked up at Beauty Bar in Chicago for a live performance. The two performed "Leader", "Just What I Needed" and "Drive Slow".

If they want him to be a leader then a leader he will be. In his latest visual offering Isaac takes through the woods and open fields on his journey on becoming a leader. The record, "Leader" is off his recent project Daze Off .

Produced by El Schmitty. Fresh off the release of his Daze Off project, Isaac slid me this joint featuring Gary's G-Scott and Boldy James. This wasn't supposed to be out so early, but I refuse to let this track fall to the depths of my inbox. Be sure to check out G-Scott's latest project here and stay tuned for new music from Boldy James. Man In My Town Isaac feat. G-Scott & Boldy James - Man [...]

Last Friday, Love Machine got the opportunity to meet with Hanson ahead of the release of their latest album Shout It Out and pick their brains about what motivates young men who have already been in the business for fifteen years to keep putting out good music. On arrival, we were introduced to Isaac (gentlemanly), Taylor (suave) and Zac (charming) and immediately got stuck in. Although not before Taylor took an impromptu photo of us - "He's turning the tables!" laughs Zac. But dammit, he didn't get our good side! What we learned in [...]

Over the past three years, the Italian electronic dance duo of Bob Rifo (aka Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo) and DJ Tommy Tea (aka Isaac) have worked under the The Bloody Beetroots moniker to make their way into "disco-punk-stardom." I couldn't find much information regarding Young Magic other than that it "is the new lo-fi psych, soul, boogie and beats brainchild of Isaac." Isaac who? Beats me. All I know is Isaac = Young Magic. To be honest, this lack of information doesn't make much of a difference since the track "You With Air" is such an infectious blend of synths and beats that is practically forcing me to dance. Isaac Mizrahi talks about the recession and how it's affecting the fashion industry. Also, some tips on survival during these times. But, why did she tank in 1998 when the market was okay? I'm gonna take it back to the old school for a hot second. In 1988 the Rumours Riddim dropped and took the dancehall scene by storm. Originally produced by Augustus "Gussie" Clarke this has become one of the most classic dancehall riddims to date with numerous re-workings of it surfacing in the last 20 years. The infectious bass line is just way too rude and is sure to make you move your feet. The biggest drop on the riddim may be up for debate but in my mind Lady G just kills everything with her cut "Nuff Respect". [...]
In terms of charity concerts, last night's show blew the socks off the Tibet benefit from a few months ago. But first things first, let's talk about the We Are the World moment that closes charity concerts. There might be nothing that leaves me so embarrassed for someone else as the final group closing song. I'm always throwing my head in my hands and muttering, is this really happening? Last night's version was the epitome of this. About 15 indie kids clustered on the corner of the stage with their acoustic guitars and decided to sing a Seeger song, [...]
There are far too many tabs open on my computer and links that I've emailed myself so here we go: This video has left me a little indecisive. 85% of me wants to fly Jody, Kelly and I to some weird island for one of my fitness vacations, 12% of me wonders how horribly callused this guys feet are, and 3% of me wants to apply to work for him on his Brazilian experience trips. You can read his philosophy at MovNat . [...]
Isaac and I are heading to Dark was the Night at Radio City in the beginning of May. If you haven't checked out the AIDS charity comp, grab it and it was cheaper on Amazon when I bought, FYI. I jumped in bed last night when I saw that Bon Iver has been added to the bill, but it was too late to call anyone and cheer about it. My favorite Yeasayer track is at the bottom of this post, too--I LOVE singing this song on my drives. We often talk about my fears of [...]
My friend Daniel Knox dug out this gem from the cassette pile at Unique Thrift Store in Chicago. Not your typical found recording of some kid yapping and singing, our little friend Isaac really can't get anything right. Take, for example, his brain damaged version of the ABCs... Isaac - ABCs (mp3) Is this kid fucking around? His rendition of the alphabet is a bit boggling...and really quite amazing and hilarious. I am assuming this is a cassette recorded for a speech therapy session as there is a patronizing teacher [...]
