Today I bore witness to the true value of Twitter, when I saw a link for this song in one of Said the Whale 's twoots. The song is a mashup that features Gentleman from Said the Whale, Time to Pretend from MGMT , Lovely Alien from Holy Fuck , Baba O'Riley from The Who , and vocals over top from the Canadian hip-hop artist Shad ; needless to say, it all comes together in spectacular fashion, like really spectacular fashion. Another tune tonight from the Vancouver-based indie-rock band Said the Whale . The Magician (Camilo) is the opening track off the band's most recent EP The Magician , released in May of this year; The song is also expected to be included on the band's sophomore full-length effort Islands Disappear . According to the band's website , mixing of the new album will begin on August 17 with an expected release date of October 13.
