It's been a long time since we've heard anything from Blind Pilot . Their debut album, 3 Rounds and a Sound, came out in 2008 and since then, they've morphed into a very, very different band from the one that recorded that album. What started as a two-piece folk outfit from frontman Israel Nebeker and drummer Ryan Dobrowski, has turned into a large band which includes secret weapon Kati Claborn. Outside the Uptown Theatre, it looked like the Pacific Northwest as a blanket of cold, misty rain enshrouded the town. Inside the Uptown Theatre, it was about to sound like the Pacific Northwest as Portland's finest was preparing to take the stage. Selling out The Mercury Lounge in New York City on your first national tour? I was passed 3 Rounds and a Sound by Portland rockers Blind Pilot and had heard it was very " Arcade Fire meets Jack Johnson ." Umm, whoever told me that is deaf because I wholeheartedly disagree!
