I like it, that's undeniable. I wouldn't post it if I didn't. It also runs counter to almost everything I normally post or say. "Dancing Mutant Man Child" has all the breaks and glitches you wanna hear if you're a dubstep fan, but Jack & The Ripper (brothers and twins to boot) have married them to chugging guitars and rock vocals for an interesting hybrid that is very dynamic. Japandroids – Jack The Ripper From the song's first dissonant bars it's obvious that the Japandroids cover of "Jack the Ripper" is a departure from the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds original. The deep, brooding acoustic guitar is replaced with a cavernous, acerbic electric that lends a greater feeling of nervousness and disjointedness at the expense of much of the parent track's underlying malevolence. Cave's pained, scratchy wail is replaced with the flatter scream typical of early-90s indie bands like Fugazi. GOTCHA COVERED: Japandroids - Jack The Ripper (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Cover)// It’s such a great feeling when someone really nails a cover. Like when Johnny Cash covered NIN’s “Hurt.” You’re lying if you claim to have not shed a tear to that one. Although this one may not be as emotionally poignant as Mr. Cash’s cover the Japandroids nailed this  slow burning cover of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds “Jack The Ripper” no questions asked. You can just feel that punk rock swagger dripping off this track.

Japandroids release cover of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds' 'Jack the Ripper' After first listen to 'The House That Heaven Built,' the astounding new single from Vancouver duo Japandroids , the hype built around their upcoming album Celebration Rock has continued to climb steadily high.
