The buzz surrounding former White Stripes frontman Jack White and his debut solo album Blunderbuss was fairly big, to say the least. Also grabbing attention is the different methods and ingenious ways he comes up with how to distribute and create vinyl, perhaps none more so than his one for "Freedom At 213 , in which he released 1,000 73 vinyls attached to helium balloons and let them sail through the Tennessee skies, [...]

Albümün blues rock'tan rock'n roll'a uzanan karakterini White'ın hırslı ve heyecanlı [...]

Jack White is a man that needs no introduction. He's one of the most iconic rock stars that have emerged in the past decade and has achieved some significant things in our time. It's safe to say Jack White sounds like nobody and nobody sounds like Jack White. That's quite the distinction. Blunderbuss is the first solo effort from Jack White and it's a fantastic record. It was released in late April and if you haven't already got it (or want a duplicate copy) then we have a pleasant contest for you! [...]

'Blunderbuss' is not a blunder or a bust. Read more »

Jack White's first solo release Blunderbuss was officially released at the end of April 2012. The album taps into Jack’s roots absorbing many Country, Folk and Blues influences, but the album began organically during one of the many recording sessions at Whites own studio in Nashville. The album unlike previous albums was written from scratch when Jack was planning to recording RZA from Wu Tang Clan, RZA couldn’t make the sessions and there was a band in the studio, so Jack took the opportunity to record several tracks in last few months of 2011. Jack [...]

Regardless of how good Blunderbuss is, Jack White’s (@thirdmanrecords) name and past history as one of the world's greatest living guitarists will be enough to earn the album plenty of ears and surrounding opinions. Given his over-a-decade long presence in popular music, it’s difficult to believe that this is actually his debut solo record. Blunderbuss , though, confirms what White’s audience has always been aware of: he's an artist not interested in creating the newest sound on the scene, but in revitalizing classic music and injecting it with a new, electric energy. [...]
When The White Stripes split was announced in February 2011, it wasn't a surprise for anyone. And the main reason for that is Jack White 's continuous involvement in side projects that became more than one-time things: The Raconteurs with Brendan Benson and Dead Weather with Alison Mosshart from The Kills . Though success was still there for Detroit blues-rock star, his performances with both bands had shown he couldn't lose his habit of stealing the spotlight, being the center of attention even as a singing drummer in Dead Weather. He is [...]

Jack White Blunderbuss Third Man In some ways Jack White's Blunderbuss, the first solo offering by the one-time White Stripes frontman, is exactly what one would expect. The songs, sometimes ferocious and rowdy, but often times quieter and more contemplative, are solidly based in the blues, American roots, and garage rock. There's guitar wail and guitar squawk, especially on songs like "Sixteen Saltines" and "Freedom at 213 where that squawk is live-wire, touch it and get yourself fried, electric, similar to the sound of an old White Stripes track like "Blue [...]

I think I have a new album to enter into my top ten favourites of all time. Blunderbuss by Jack White is quite simply an astounding album of heartache and woe. My only complaint when listening to it was that I didn’t have it on vinyl, because this is an album that belongs on a table, spinning under the needle. Anyone that is picking up Blunderbuss is probably already quite familiar with White and really the album won’t hold many surprises for you, but please don’t think that that means that this is a [...]
Ty Segall and Timothy "White Fence" Presley Words : Drake LeLane We're [Drake et al. -ed.] back after taking a week off for a little R&R in Mexico last week (sorry Spiritualized and Moonface... we'll get you next time). This week is marked by a lot of classic guitar-based rock influences. Ty Segall and White Fence hole up in a garage for 30 minutes of psych rock fun, while Jack White puts all his appreciation of rock history into [...]

If Jack White "of The White Stripes" may have constituted the 25% of The Raconteurs that commanded approximately nigh on 90% of any initial appeal then lone ranger Brendan Benson will indubitably have upped his share since throwing his cards (or at least homely nasal vocals) down into the mix. He's debatably become "Brendan Benson of The Raconteurs" to the more ignorant or undiscerning among us and although the dust around White's debut solo outing proper may still be mid-settle, What Kind of World could – even if it may not – sweep away some of [...]
The other night when Jools Holland aired with Alabama Shakes , Jack White , and Grimes , they played a few cuts from their respective albums and now the rest of their sets have made their way online. Jack White did "Blunderbuss" track "Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy" , The White Stripes classic (and my personal favourite song of theirs) "Ball And Biscuit" , and a little interview with [...]
Earlier this week Jack White released his awesome new debut solo album, Blunderbuss . Last night he performed four tracks on Later With Jools Holland ... - three tracks from Blunderbuss ( Sixteen Saltines, Freedom At 21 and Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy ) and Ball And Biscuit from The White Stripes [...]
