Blunderbuss is not the The White Stripes , or The Raconteurs , or The Dead Weather . It’s an album built straight from the mind of Jack White . A guy born too late, who’s always on the move, always creating, and never doing the same thing twice. Blunderbuss is an eccentric, vaudevillian show produced by a mad-man, and it’s amazing. Listening to Blunderbuss is like going on a stroll through Jack White’s mind. It has an “era-gone-past” vibe to it, and can be a happy, sad [...]

An unsurprisingly brilliant effort from a man who, as of yet, hasn’t made a bad record

With yesterday's release of the new Jack White album " Blunderbuss ", we've been introduced to the solo career of Jack White . From " The White Stripes " to " The Raconteurs " and "The Dead Weather" Jack has done it all. He's now truly a "Jack of All Trades". This album, being Jack White's first full-length solo album, is a great start to the beginning of his solo career. Its a great blend of his signature "Garage Rock" sound displayed more in " The White Stripes " [...]

Who is Jack White? An omnipresent force in the world of music, he's been purposefully vague about his backstory for years. But here's what we do know: Jack White is one half of the White Stripes, mastermind of side projects The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, a skilled and enigmatic figure in rock n' roll. Now, though, he finds himself at a crossroads. With the Stripes (sadly) kaput and without a faithful group of collaborators behind him, Jack White is facing somewhat of an identity crisis. Can the same rock star who has captured our imagination still keep us guessing [...]

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been completely taken aback by Jack White’s latest album, Blunderbuss . The dude is ridiculously talented at writing phenomenal songs. This track reminds me of The Band. It could be because I’ve been on a The Band kick since Levon Helm passed, but this is just an amazing song. Enjoy and buy Jack White’s new album, Blunderbuss . It’s phenomenal.
In this week's edition of "Jack White Weekly" there are a number of exciting updates: 1. Jack's debut solo album, Blunderbuss has been released! What are your thoughts? I'll be taking an in-depth listen this weekend during a road trip. 2. Jack White is going to write, produce, and perform the score for Walt Disney Pictures' version of The Lone Ranger which stars Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie "Winklevii" Hammer as John Reid, the Lone Ranger. Wait a minute [...]
Jonah Bromwich is making the Wonka face right now. As hard as I try to be fair and show the appropriate critical distance, there’s always going to be a vague sense of disappointment when Jack White released a record without The White Stripes name on it. Along with all his other distinct abilities and idiosyncrasies, White has an astonishing capacity for compartmentalization. Every act is wholly conceived as a separate and coherent entity, and though there are crossovers in influence and occasional overlaps in sound, the projects all end up sounding, if not worlds apart, [...]

A few of my favorite new releases this week, including the latest from Toro y Moi and the solo debut from the one and only Jack White. As always, be sure to check out Largehearted Boy and KEXP for a whole lot more. Bad Veins// The Mess We've Made ♩ Dancing On TV [...]
Jools Holland 's show kicked off tonight with a bumper line-up of artists who've released some of the best albums of the year so far. Jack White played a couple of tracks from his excellent debut solo album "Blunderbuss" , Alabama Shakes played from their equally-as fantastic debut LP "Boys & Girls" , and Canadian experimental indie-electronic artist Grimes played from her stunning album "Visions" . [...]
When the news broke that The White Stripes had officially broken up back in February of 2011, my feelings were somewhat mixed: of course, The White Stripes were and still are one of my favourite bands, one of the few bands active in my lifetime whose discography seems to warrant obsessing over and scouring through in the same fashion as those of many more established legends, and, of course, you always look forward to a new album from your favourite band. The discovery that no such new album would ever come was [...]
Finally, some new Jack White music on our Reviews On Music page! The guy practically dropped off the radar after that last White Stripes' album in 2007, if you don't count his work with the Raconteurs
After the breakup of the White Stripes, Jack White perseveres forward with Blunderbuss charting his new creative course with an even more appealing sonic direction.
Here's my review of the debut solo album from Jack White called Blunderbuss . The album is officially released today on CD, vinyl and digitally. What are your thoughts on the album? Leave a comment and offer up your own review.

Jack White - Blunderbuss By Tom Bolton Jack White is officially adrift, unmoored from his marriage (divorced last year from Karen Elsom) and his original band (the White Stripes, probably gone for good), and now he’s floating into new, solo territory for the first time. Of course, nothing is as straightforward as it seems with a man who has made a career from disinformation and carefully cultivated mystique. However, this time there’s just a suspicion that he might mean some of what he says literally. [...]

Jack White Blunderbuss Label: Third Man Records/Columbia Release Date: April 23, 2012

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars Jack White 's pretty much done everything musically speaking at this point: he's played in various bands ( White Stripes , Raconteurs , etc) and he's produced/written with music legends. Heck, he even got to date Bridget Jones and marry a British super model, so what does he have left to prove to us? Absolutely nothing...and that's the point of Blunderbuss . Old fans of Jack's will probably enjoy the album opener "Missing Pieces;" it seems like one of [...]

Jack White will release Blunderbuss next Tuesday. He's been out doing some promotion around the globe and making announcements about headlining different summer festivals. He stopped by De Harald Schmidt Show in Germany yesterday and performed two tracks off his upcoming debut, solo album. Glad it wasn't just the two we've been hearing. He skips "Love Interruption" this time and performs "Sixteen Saltines", along with a new track "Freedom at 213. So pumped for Blunderbuss .
